Summary: I used my Zojirushi for over a year, and while it performed decently in that time, I was never overly thrilled with it and I just replaced it with a simpler, old fashioned steamer with a removable glass lid. My family eats rice very frequently and we used the steamer about five times a week. The unit works well enough- we usually cook jasmine and occasionally basmati.
Summary: Either brand; Zojirushi or Tiger, make sure it made in JAPAN, they're the best rice cooker in the world. Bought it in 1982 and it still rocking !! If for some reason it fail to cook or keep warm after the warranty? just replace the [Cut Off Thermal Fuse] make sure the Temp.& Amp. rating on the new fuse are in celsius NOT Fahrenheit and match with the original one.
Summary: This rice maker is great when you're having people over. It cooks the rice to perfection, and doesn't overcook or dry it out. I have to admit that it's just too much for just a 3-person family meal, so we don't use it on a daily basis. Bottom line, though, I'm happy we have it, have no buyer's remorse, and would recommend it fully.
