Summary: I purchased the Sanyo ECJ-M100S Micro-Computerized 10-Cup Rice Cooker from Amazon after my older Sanyo rice cooker finally bit the dust after many, many years of faithful service. I decided to buy it based on the reviews here, which were very good. Coming from an Asian family, I cook and eat a lot of rice--breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Summary: After receiving a defective product and having it quidkly replaced by the company, I have come to really enjoy my rice maker. I primarily bought it for its "porridge" setting and have not regretted it. Making old fashioned oat meal has become a breeze, and I now enjoy it six days a week as part of a healthy nutrition plan. Making good rice has also become effortless, and I am now beginning to experiment with variations on the basic recipe.
Summary: I've only had the cooker for a few months, but so far it has done an excellent job on everything I've used it for. I've cooked rice, steamed eggs, veggies and have always had consistent results. So far, so good. I have no reason not to recommend this product, as it has worked very well for me.
Summary: I owned two cheap $20 rice cookers from Walmart. When cooking they would spit rice water all over the place (always a nightmare to clean up), and cooked rice would stick to the bottom (so a lot of rice wasted). I bought this unit for a change and I'm very satisfied. The non-stick surface works perfectly; not a single grain of rice clings to the inner surface.
Summary: I got this rice cooker less than a week ago and I have already used it 3 times to make long grain and medium grain white rice. It's turned out perfectly every time. The best rice I've ever made! I can't wait to try some of the other features and next I'm going to do medium grain brown rice.
Summary: The rice cooker itself is okay. It has a brown rice function (main reason I bought it) and a few other nice features. Good: - Cooks rice without a hassle. - Looks decent. - Price was reasonable when I bought it. Bad: - The cord is made of lead according to the instructions and you should wash your hands after touching it?! I wouldn't have bought this if I had known this in advance.
Summary: This is a very new model which Amazon started selling only recently. I bought this over a month ago from a third party seller here. Being a native rice eater, and having cooked rice flawlessly on the stove-top for years, I have always been very dismissive of these automatic rice cookers because they never lived up to the hype.
