Summary: It's not just beautiful cooking machine but it cooking perfect rice, I love it. But the only draw back is the machine taking a little bit too long to cook than the one that I'm using right now. I had been using Tiger cooking machines for 30 years,it's working like a charm, can complain at all, it's also much cheaper this Sanyo. I bought this one because it's looking so nice, if you don't mind waiting for an extra 5 minutes then this is for you. I would recommended .
Summary: I bought this appliance Nov 2007 and have cooked everything from brown rice to steamed dumplings. I have just begun to use it as a slow cooker too. I've read some of the critics review and never experienced the Teflon peeling as one reviewer claimed, but his model was newer than mine. This product is durable to compensate for my lack of care. I leave it on, sometimes for days, and the cooked rice would still be warm and fresh for two to three days.
Summary: I seem to buy this rice cooker as presents for other people. I bought this rice cooker in 2008 as a wedding present for my sister. She still has it and loves it. Our Asian family, who flew into the US for the occasion, were impressed with it and the rice it produced. They could not believe I that I bought it on Amazon and not from a store. I bought the smaller version, the 5 1/2 cup, rice cooker as a present for someone else who loves to cook rice.
The inner pot peeled off after 2 years of normal usage
Family Guy, Amazon
2 December 2012
Summary: The cooker is a good design and still reliable. The inner pot coating got peeled off after normal usage. (washed with clothes, not scrubbed ever). No where to find replacement pot. Now using the other inner pot (without marking) for rice cooking, and going on cooker hunting again.
Summary: My new boyfriend got this gift as a 30 year wedding anniversary for my parents. It's a huge winner!! Cooks any kind of rice. We're azn and we've tried it all, from jasmine, to brown, black, basmati and orzo. It's great! Awesome nonstick, even gives you a countdown. awesome!
Summary: We purchased this rice cooker several years ago and absolutly loved it. Not only could we not mess up the water to rice measurement (rice cooker adjusted) but our rice stayed great for 3 days. That was unbelievable!! Our main diet is rice so I can say that with confidence and experience. We used ours for years until it was beyond use. Since then I have been through 3 different brands and everyone of them could not even compare.
Summary: I always told people that rice cookers are a waste of money if you know how to use a stove, wow was I wrong! The reason for my purchase was for the timer, to have fresh rice ready after getting home from work but this cooker not only does that but the rice is better than any cooked on stove stop. Not only that but it is very well built and even runs off of an internal battery so you don't have to leave it plugged in, saving power!
Summary: I am totally in love with this rice cooker. I am from South India, and rice is a very important part of our diet. I have been using several rice cookers for the past 20 years and this is the best I have ever used. The quality of rice is very different when cooked with this cooker. And talking about brown rice, it makes it fluffy and soft. Even my kids have started eating brown rice now.
Summary: First off, I'm Chinese and am basically a life long rice eater. Rice is definitely my daily staple. I don't feel right when I don't have a bowl of rice or two in my stomach daily. Therefore, I use rice cookers daily. My parents brought me up using Tiger brand rice cookers. I used to have a basic Zojirushi that I used to cook brown rice for 10 years until it finally stopped working last month. Great durable rice cooker, but near the end, the rice got burned on the bottom.
Summary: My wife purchased this rice cooker in August of 2009. Within two weeks of purchase the cooker got stuck in the "Keep Warm" mode somehow. We think it's because it was in Keep Warm mode and then we unplugged it without turning it off first. We sent it back to Amazon and got a replacement with no troubles at all. Thanks, Amazon. Our second cooker has been going strong since the end of August 2009.
