Rice cooker

  • Summary: This is a simple yet excellent product and cheap too. It gets the job done just like the more expensive rice cookers. Just put the rice ,wash it, put the knob in cooking position and it will do the rest.

Sanyo rice cooker

oklahoma, Amazon
23 September 2012
  • Summary: This 10 cup rice cooker from Sanyo is a reliable efficient inexpensive model that gets the job done. This is the second one I have had and have given one to my son to make rice. As long as you follow the instructions by using the measuring cup that comes with and filling to appropriate water level marked on the inside of the cooking pot, the Japanese short-medium grain rice turns out perfect everytime.

Simple & versatile

Skia Laurence, Amazon
22 October 2011
  • Summary: I've had more expense rice cookers, but this is my favorite. You push the button, it somehow cooks until the grain absorbs the water and then switches to a warmer mode. I use this to cook everything from barley to black-eyed peas to split pea soup. I set it, press the button and go about my business --- for the more hardy legumes, I do need to occasionally walk by, give a stir and add water, but it's still much faster and easier than cooking them on the stove.
