Summary: The size of this cooker is fine, and the finished product is wonderful as well, however, it takes AN HOUR for it to heat up to even start cooking. So to make brown rice takes two hours, if I haven't planned ahead. I ended up buying a cheaper one that heats up instantly for the nights when I need food faster.

Summary: I have on myself and just bought my daughter-in-law one for Christmas since she is Asian and rice is served at every meal. The price was also cheaper than the store and the free shipping was fantastic.
Summary: I am a cooking novice. I have used the rice cooker now about 10-15 times and the rice has been great every time. That should be worth 5 stars alone. The one gripe I have is no indicator to give an approximation of when the rice will be done. I am not sure if other units has this, but I would definitely spend a few dollars for that. It makes planning the rest of your meal a little difficult.
Summary: Bought this to replace our old rice cooker, but the first time we tried to use it, the appliance never heated up. We waited over 20 minutes, tried various settings, and just gave up. Regardless of what the internal packaging might say, DO NOT call Aroma customer service for returns - they will charge you to ship back and restock. We returned ours to Amazon for a full refund.
Summary: I purchased this product a few months ago and used it no more than 10 times. I may have gotten a defective one. But the last time I used this rice cooker, it burned the rice AND the pot and completely stopped working. Now I need another big rice cooker, I'm kinda hesitant on purchasing another Aroma.
Summary: Good design and efficient energy use. Easy to clean. Cooks Brown Rice better than any of the others I've used. Two notes on use: 1) Clean Vent after every use for best operation. 2) If you want to leave it unattended and rely on the warming cycle(which works very well) add an extra 1/4 cup of water at the beginning of the cooking cycle.
Summary: Cooking rice is a tricky task with unpredictable outcomes. My teen-age sons like short-grain white rice, but only when cooked to the level of perfection achieved, for example, at Tachibana, a local Japanese restaurant. The Aroma delivers. The one-button automatic timing is correct for cooking the rice, and the warming feature works well. I have only steamed carrots in the steamer tray while cooking rice, and it does that well.
