Summary: I bought this cooker at a big box store and have been using it for about 2 weeks. I cooked a large pot of rice for my dogs yesterday using the time delay feature. When I got home yesterday, he told me that the rice cooker had exploded! Apparently, the steam vent on the rice cooker had gotten clogged with rice gluten, and the cooker pressurized, causing the lid to pop open and rice to fly everywhere!
Summary: I bought this item, gently used, at a garage sale for $10. I already had one Aroma stainless rice cooker in my primary home (puchased at Costco Mexico!) and simply loved it. I wanted another one at my U.S. part time home, but wasn't willing to pay retail for it (even though it is definitely worth every penny!) ---- Just cooked my first batch of brown rice, it took approx. 1 hr. 50 minutes (from my exp.
Summary: This is the second Aroma ARX-930 rice cooker and steamer I have purchased. I liked mine so much that I bought one for my son. It holds a large enough quantity for a crowd, and the outside stays cool. It cooks rice perfectly - there are different buttons to push for white and brown rice, and both come out beautifully.
Summary: I have this rice cooker which i bought it from Target. it is a very useful home appliance. it is very convenient to use and is good for making pulov, rice items. cleaning is also simple not as the ordinary pressure cooker and does not make noise and fumes. once after cooking is over it keeps its content warm till we use it. rice cooked is at proper consistency and not over cooked. also it is affordable.
Summary: The non-stick coating in mine started to chip off after only a few months(less than a year). It needs to be replaced after being used for one year since the bottom of the non-stick pan is in a really bad condition. Not a good quality product. I have used other rice cookers before and this one has the shortest life span as far as the non-stick coating is concerned. There is also a bug in the delayed timer. If you set it to 1 hour, it is acturally about 15 minutes.
Summary: This is a step above the basic rice cooker. What I really like about this model is the pail that the rice cooks in is extremely easy to clean. Just soak it in water and everything falls out. Like all rice cookers, it is easy to use. I typically don't bother with the brown rice setting when cooking brown rice because it takes too long. I just cook all rice (brown & white) using the white rice setting, and it cooks fast and has good results.
Summary: I borrowed this rice cooker from my nephew who has used many rice cookers in the past. He is very pleased with this product and let me use it for a week. The rice cooker performed as expected with perfect brown, white and wild rice every time. Steam cooking vegetables is a major plus. Vegetables can be cooked at the same time with the rice. Product is very easy to operate.
Summary: Bought this at a discount box store - perfect example of "you get what you pay for". For a bargain price, this does an okay job on brown rice; however, there is zero indication in the instruction manual about how long brown rice takes to cook. Reviews of more expensive cookers said as much as 2 hours....this one takes about 105 minutes and does the rice pretty well. I'd change it to 3 stars if amazon would let me...$30..
Summary: Based on the great reviews for this rice cooker, I bought it. The first four times the rice came out perfect and I was elated! No more starch sputtering all over my stove, no clean up, no mess, and perfect rice! At least for the first four times. The fifth and sixth time of use produced what resembled paste. I had used exactly the same quantity of rice, water, using the same type of rice (white basmati) yet the cooker didn't regulate itself and I was left with paste.
