Summary: I have owned this rice cooker for at least 3 years, and rice still comes out perfect. Takes a little trial and error when trying a new type of rice to get it to our family's taste. We use mostly jasmine rice, which is 2 cups rice, 3 cups water (regular cups, we lost the little cup that came with it a long time ago, hence the trial and error part). My teenage daughter loves that she can make perfect rice every time.
Summary: I bought this cooker at a big box store and have been using it for about 2 weeks. I cooked a large pot of rice for my dogs yesterday using the time delay feature. When I got home yesterday, he told me that the rice cooker had exploded! Apparently, the steam vent on the rice cooker had gotten clogged with rice gluten, and the cooker pressurized, causing the lid to pop open and rice to fly everywhere!
Summary: This is the second Aroma ARX-930 rice cooker and steamer I have purchased. I liked mine so much that I bought one for my son. It holds a large enough quantity for a crowd, and the outside stays cool. It cooks rice perfectly - there are different buttons to push for white and brown rice, and both come out beautifully.
Summary: This is a step above the basic rice cooker. What I really like about this model is the pail that the rice cooks in is extremely easy to clean. Just soak it in water and everything falls out. Like all rice cookers, it is easy to use. I typically don't bother with the brown rice setting when cooking brown rice because it takes too long. I just cook all rice (brown & white) using the white rice setting, and it cooks fast and has good results.
Summary: I've used this cooker for the past 4 years and have never had a problem making any kind of rice with it; brown, white, basmati, long or short grained... it's all been perfect. This cooker takes the worry out of rice when preparing a large meal. Easy to use and easy to clean.
Summary: Pro: fill, push button, ignore it until done. Con: Takes WAY over an hour (1.5?) to cook 2 cups (uncooked) brown rice. I should have bought a smaller cooker. I never put more than 3 cups of rice in, and never use it as a veggie steamer. (That seems like it would take forever compared to stovetop steaming.
Summary: We purchased this rice cooker at least 4-years ago, and it has worked great for cooking white and brown rice, normally in quantities of 2 cups or less (uncooked). I would guess that in the time we have had it, we probably only used it on average 1-2 times per month. The last time I tried to cook rice I loaded it with 1.5 cups of rice and 2.5 cups of water and pushed the button.
Summary: We purchased this to steam veggies and cook rice. It is very easy to use, clean, and manage. My teenagers love it as it isn't difficult for them to cook what they want on their own. The price was compatible to others. My only issue is that the rice tends to stick and brown if you leave warming for an extended amount of time, but we are trying other cooking secrets to help eliminate the problem. I love having the rice and veggies done in 25 min.
Summary: I have this rice cooker which i bought it from Target. it is a very useful home appliance. it is very convenient to use and is good for making pulov, rice items. cleaning is also simple not as the ordinary pressure cooker and does not make noise and fumes. once after cooking is over it keeps its content warm till we use it. rice cooked is at proper consistency and not over cooked. also it is affordable.
Summary: i had one of these by the same manufacturer and it worked great. But I could not get this one to make white or brown rice well no matter what I did. Went online and tried every trick and still no luck. best of luck to everyone else that wants to try it. And if it doesnt work well for you, make sure you can return it in time, i missed the deadline. I bought it because it had fairly good ratings.
