Summary: Makes cooking rice simple. Put the rice in, pour in the appropriate amount of water, set to heat and wait until it switches to warm. Piece of cake! **Update** After a couple of months of light use, I began having the same problem many of the negative reviews had. It switches from "Cook" to "Warm" after maybe 5 minutes. This of course keeps the rice from cooking, leaving you with a pot of uncooked rice in warm water. This problem has been intermittent.
Summary: The cooker looks great and works well but there are a couple of flaws. You have to babysit the cooker for a few minutes in the beginning since the switch automatically turns from ‘cook’ to ‘Warm’ mode in just 2-3 minutes, you will have to turn it back to the ‘cook’ mode again. It works well for cooking 1 or more cups of rice, but avoid using it for cooking less than 1\2 cup of rice as the rice would be hard and dry.
Summary: I've been on a pretty strict budget for over a year now. You get tired of ramen. Rice is not only more filling, it also has less sodium than instant ramen. As an added bonus this model has flowers painted on the side, so when you look at it you can imagine it smells pleasant, even if it only smells like rice.
Summary: first time of use, cook mode switched itself to warm mode and there was a smoke which smelled like a burnt electrical wiring. I turned it back to cook mode and just let it cook until the smoke went away. What's most annoying with this product is it keeps switching from cook to warm mode and vice-versa! After 24 hours my rice dried out! Anyway, i will definitely return this faulty product back to amazon.
Summary: When the cooker first arrived, I was pleased beyond words. Cooked fast and the rice came out perfectly cooked. About two months into the purchase, the cooked failed. It would power up and you assume the rice is cooking. Within five minutes, it would switch from cook to warm mode. It should do so after all the water has evaporated and the rice has cooked. The company's warranty is a sham. The customer needs to pay for shipping both ways.
Summary: Bought it a couple of years ago and it it still going strong. Overall, I like it. I've used the steamer for veggies - a good time saver. Rice produced is quite nice. A few downsides: - lots of little parts that require cleaning after each use and can get lost. - lid does not detach and so it become very difficult to clean - non stick eventually wears away (hopefully not in my food!
