Summary: I've had a rice steamer for many years -- probably more than 15 -- and was happy with it but wanted something that would make the rice without sending up so much steam onto the cupboards. While the Aroma rice cooker was very quiet and let out very little steam, for just two people, this rice cooker was a poor investment. It cooked a large pot of rice beautifully, but scortched the 2-cup amount I normally make, and there isn't an option to make less.
Summary: I've never had a bad experience from amazon.com until now. My rice cooker arrived 4 weeks after the rest of my order and the box was totally crushed and badly damaged. I contacted the seller and was told that I couldn't return it after 30 days of ordering. It took 6 weeks to receive it. I'm bothered that they didn't even try to make it right. Don't order from EKLECTIC SHOP.
Summary: This is my first rice cooker so I tried several attempts to get good rice out of it. I did maybe twice. I experimented a few times adding more water but most of the time I got dry, crusty rice on the bottom. I figured out that I had to stop it before it was done otherwise it would burn. That's when I followed directions exactly. I thought it was me because I have issues making rice in a regular pot too. But I really think this rice cooker cooks too hot.
Summary: I love the easy settings this cooker has. The brown rice setting takes the hassle out of temperamental brown and wild rices. Be advised that the "keep warm" feature will end up browning your rice if left on for too long. A great product at a fantastic price.
Summary: Me and my girlfriend got this because it had the digital features and it was really cheap. Bad move. We usually unplugged the cooker when the rice was cooked, because in 'keep warm' mode, the rice gets burnt or dried in about an hour (like other reviewers have stated). It made good basmati rice with a drizzle of olive oil and a pinch of salt - but regular white rice was always burnt at the bottom.
Summary: When is a bargain not a bargain? When an appliance may cause a fire in your kitchen. Purchased the 10 cup Aroma ARC -1000 rice cooker for $30 because of the digital technology options. During the first day the Aroma in the "keep warm" mode extracted so much moisture from the cooked white rice it became brown and stuck to the bottom of the cooking pan.
Summary: Rice is both soggy and burnt/dried up in warm mode. I've use Zojirushi cookers forever until I slammed it shut and broke the handle. Got the aroma as a gift and i hate it!! The rice cooks fine, but you better eat it within an hour or your rice is ruined.
Summary: I spent hours researching rice cookers before deciding to buy this one. As a recent convert to healthy eating and cooking, this machine was just what I needed. It had to be simple - I am not a cook and once caught my kitchen on fire trying to make garlic bread! It had to make great rice on it's own, cause my first stovetop attempts to make rice looked more like cement than rice.
Summary: I did a lot of research online before choosing this rice cooker. It received the highest ratings in blog reviews when people were testing it out against other brands. I love brown rice but never have the time to cook it,being a full time student and also working a full time job. This fixed that problem. Yes, if you use the delay setting the rice will brown a little on the bottom but it is never overcooked.
Summary: this rice cooker is taunted as a professional rice cooker. the only thing professional about it is that it professionally ruins any and all rice you cook..though the rice does cook right, when it goes into warm mode it burns the rice before you have a chance to eat it. DO NOT BUY! ! !
