Summary: I love this rice cooker! The delay timer allows me to fill the cooker with all the ingredients, program for the exact number of hours that I want for the rice to be ready, and I come home to perfect rice every time. It makes great brown rice. Visit www.familysavvy.com for the French Onion brown rice recipe that I make for my family at least once a week. So delicious, and so much healthier than white rice!
Summary: Cheaper on mfg website. I paid 39.99 for this from aromas homepage. The rice cooker is really nice. I put in rice, and filled water up to the line, turned it on and walked away. At dinner time I had nice perfectly cooked rice. This is way better than using a pan on the stove.
Excerpt: We bought rice cooker after using Black and Decker rice cooker. We are pleased moving away and using Aroma rice cooker. Here are some of the reasons why we prefer Aroma rice cooker over earlier rice cookers Cooks brown rice: This system has option for brown rice. My Husband and I have become more health conscious and prefer brown rice over white. This cooker makes amazing brown rice. However, note that the cook time increases drastically.
Excerpt: I am awful at cooking stove top rice, so I love my rice cooker. This one does a good job for the price. It can sometimes get a bit messy if put too much water in it (it can overflow a bit to the top of the steamer), but overall, it's a great rice cooker for the price. The one drawback for me is that fact that you cannot remove the cover to help the cleaning process. I'm not sure if there are any rice cookers like that that even exist, but it would be a great feature!
Summary: I bought this as a steamer more than a rice cooker. It is probably wonderful for rice but I had to experiment to use it as a steamer and crockpot. It is light and has a convenient carrying handle and an area to catch moisture that drips when the lid is opened.
Summary: The shell of this rice cooker is extremely cheap, oddly lightweight plastic. Straight out of the box there are scuffs around the lock and there is a gap where the imperfectly molded grip was snapped into the handle. I had a much better rice cooker bought for $40 at a chinese grocery store that I left behind when I moved across the country. The plastic was sturdier and the machine felt like it there were some more solid metal components inside.
Summary: The machine makes the rice perfectly every time. It is fast and quiet.... In fact it was so quick and quiet that I thought there must be something wrong with the machine. The proof was in the product.... It was moist and not soggy. It was not sticky at all. AND the meals I made within that 5 minutes went over swell.
Summary: I bought this rice maker because it was an upgrade of a rice maker that a friend had in their house. This Aroma product doesn't compare. I follow the detailed easy directions by rinsing the rice prior to placing it in the cooker, place the correct amount of water based on the specified cups of rice and it always comes out overcooked and horrible. Do not buy this product.
