Summary: I used the IOgear HDMI over Cat5e extender which means that my TiVo is in my component closet. Other systems by Niles were just too expensive and required that I lay more wire. RF is a lot quicker anyways, in terms of latency, when you are dealing with short-range IR-over-RF transmissions.
Summary: This remote has all the goodies and does a super job of turnings things on/off, changing channels, playing any games, etc. The distance range is excellent. The down side would be that you would need some experience or perhaps assistance with programming the remote, but, having said that, it's worth the learning curve.
Pros: Durable, Easy To Set Up, Ergonomic Design, Nice Button Configuration, Nice Features
Summary: Great bang for the buck considering the price of its cousins. Good for basic home theater setup, macros do not let you get to fancy. No external RF antenna jack means having to test out the position of the base station to avoid getting signal interference.
Pros: Durable, Easy To Program, Easy To Set Up, Ergonomic Design, Nice Button Configuration
Cons: No external rf antenna, Not computer programable
Summary: This controller operates my devices from anywhere on the first floor, I haven't tried upstairs yet! It replaces my old Logitech who's buttons became so hard to push you had to stand on it. I love the buttons on this device even though they are a little far apart, but no more pointing and wishing they would work.
Summary: This is a surprisingly powerful remote. It is almost identical to the pro MX350 that the company also makes. The only drawback is RF and IR are on all the time. For about half the price it is a deal.
Pros: Durable, Easy To Set Up, Ergonomic Design, Nice Button Configuration, Nice Features, Strong Signal
