Excerpt: I bought this remote to replace a well-used URC RF-10, which worked pretty good but the buttons were just worn out. The RF-20 is important because my TV operates on IR and the components are hidden in a cabinet, and use an RF Blaster to operate. I would have to spend big money on a Harmony unit to get the same features. Programming the unit is not that big a deal. Just follow instructions. I had all the components working and macros set in about 45 minutes.
Excerpt: UHF is awesome. I have one cable box and an Apple TV that feeds other TV's around the house and can control both from anywhere around the house. Learning features are a breeze, so you can scrap your other remotes that control your home entertainment system. Of course, the price is fantastic. I have tried, Harmony, Sony etc. and have given them away and replaced them with three Universal remotes.... Two RF10's and one RF20.
Pros: Durable, Easy To Program, Easy To Set Up, Ergonomic Design, Nice Features
Excerpt: This remote is great. I'm replacing an RF10 that had years of abuse and still worked! It finally wore out to the point that the buttons were hard to use. This is quite the upgrade. Much easier to program and very easy to use. I already had the powerblaster, and after a few simple steps, I was back in action. Highly recommend the Universal line of remote controls. If this thing gets half of the life of the last one, I will be extremely pleased.
Pros: Durable, Easy To Program, Easy To Set Up, Ergonomic Design, Nice Button Configuration, Nice Features
Excerpt: Bought this to replace a 2006 RF-20 that has worn out buttons. The new one mrg 07/13 had no code that would even turn on a late model VCR. Should have be able to learn all the necessary keys but no luck with many of them. Old model had no problem learning from any other remote. New replacment mfg 10/13 slightly better but firmware still buggy. Would be a five star rating if the learning feature worked as it should.
Pros: Durable, Easy To Program, Ergonomic Design, Macros, Nice Button Configuration, Nice Features
Excerpt: For 3 years i have used the old model made by the same compnay and I have the IR treansiver that controlls 5 devices.Back in the day remote like this use to cost $300.00.It was surprising to me how easy was to set up all evices I have the databse in the remote contains old and new models- Surprising. The remote is much smaller and futs in one hand so you do not need two hands to operate the unit.
Pros: Easy To Set Up, Ergonomic Design, Nice Button Configuration, Nice Features
Excerpt: I bought two of these to replace other universal remotes made by the same manufacturer. If I was rating the product by itself, I'd give it 5 stars! Easy to program and easy to use. The codes for my cable boxes, receivers, and TV's were built right in and the unit quickly learned the required commands my other components. But Universal's customer support sucks!
