Decent Remote but Lacks Functionality
6 November 2011
Summary: The remote looks great, and has a somewhat solid feel to it. Overall, it appears to be a well-build device. However, it does not function well for TV-related functions. For example, one can’t change TV channels with it. Additionally, as someone has already noted, the signal put out by this device is far weaker than a TV remote and, for that matter, an Xbox 360 controller.
Pros: Design; works very well with the Xbox 360 interface
Cons: Lacks basic TV functionality; weak signal output
Summary: Don't get me wrong this remote is solid, its well built and believe it would last years. The only problem I have with it is that it doesn't change my tv channels, for $20 it should definitely do this. Also, the signal doesn't seem as seem as strong as say the TV remote. Great design, glossy finish, but probably returning this product do to its lack of functions.
Summary: The summary says it all, I don't have cable and mostly needed this to change channels on my TV but for some reason neither the channel up/down buttons nor the channel numbers work. If they worked, this would be a much more positive review but the lack of this basic functionality is puzzling and completely disappointing.
Summary: Picked one of these up a few days ago and LOVE it. The controller will adjust volume and switch input selections at 20+ ft for me no problem. I do need to make sure I have a clear shot on the front of my TV & XBOX but that's goes for any controller using IR. I like the small form of it compared to the older media remote but I dislike that the A,B,X,Y buttons are kinda small as well.
Pros: Small form factor and nice style
Cons: Small A,B,X,Y buttons and center button can easily be pushed when using circle pad.
Summary: i got this remot about months ago it worked great for about 2 weeks then the remote lost some range and had to get up from my seat and put the remote 2 inches away from my xbox for it to work so if u are planning to use this all the time not the right choice for you
Summary: Biggest complaint is the apparent lack of a stop button. Remote works fine for all other functions and haven't had any other problems with it. Seems responsive enough and works fairly well for interacting with Windows Media Center through the Xbox.
Summary: I've been wanting to get a remote for the XBOX for a while. This has been a great investment. I don't have to worry about keeping the controller on while watching a Netflix movie or listening to Last.fm. With the remote, just point and click. I even set it up to turn on the TV.
Pros: Just point and click, easy as that.
Cons: You have to have line of sight with the XBOX for it to work.
