Excerpt: The R400 has a much improved design for storing the receiver, and it seamlessly integrated with my Surface Pro/Windows 8 (no setup or software to load). The built-in laser pointer is also a nice feature. The only issue I have is with the button sizes- it's very easy to press something , usually when you don't want it pressed. Switching from pointer to slide advance, for example. This can disrupt the presentation.
Excerpt: Decent product, connects to PC easy. Would be nice if turn on switch was activated when USB remote was removed. When placing USB dongle back in must remember to turn off switch. Nice button to start presentation.
Summary: Normally, logitech devices are easy to use and handy. This one is also easy to use, small and portable. But one thing it doesn't have that disappointed me was the click button. One cannot play a video or music from a distance with this one. Since I'm a musician my presentations are highly relied upon this feature. So, if you think you don't need a click and just need to show your slides, this is a perfect fit for you, but otherwise, I don't recommend it.
Summary: If you're looking for a remote just for starting a slideshow and going backward and forward, this does the job. It has a nice feel, although sometimes the buttons aren't as responsive as I'd like them to be when standing in front of a room full of people. I now wish I'd bought a remote that has a mouse function, because without it you still need to stay close to the laptop for anything but advancing slides.
Excerpt: keys: great. But if you touch the 'play key (F5)' it will stop your presentation! No way to get back to your current slide. ( besides going to your pc and going back to the slide were you were, and then press SF5). Useless key. Any tips on how to disable this key?
