Excerpt: The R400 has a much improved design for storing the receiver, and it seamlessly integrated with my Surface Pro/Windows 8 (no setup or software to load). The built-in laser pointer is also a nice feature. The only issue I have is with the button sizes- it's very easy to press something , usually when you don't want it pressed. Switching from pointer to slide advance, for example.
Excerpt: Decent product, connects to PC easy. Would be nice if turn on switch was activated when USB remote was removed. When placing USB dongle back in must remember to turn off switch. Nice button to start presentation.
Summary: Normally, logitech devices are easy to use and handy. This one is also easy to use, small and portable. But one thing it doesn't have that disappointed me was the click button. One cannot play a video or music from a distance with this one. Since I'm a musician my presentations are highly relied upon this feature. So, if you think you don't need a click and just need to show your slides, this is a perfect fit for you, but otherwise, I don't recommend it.
Summary: If you're looking for a remote just for starting a slideshow and going backward and forward, this does the job. It has a nice feel, although sometimes the buttons aren't as responsive as I'd like them to be when standing in front of a room full of people. I now wish I'd bought a remote that has a mouse function, because without it you still need to stay close to the laptop for anything but advancing slides.
Summary: Overall this is a great presentation tool ley down by one ergonomic failing; the page forward/backwards buttons are immediately adjacent to the laser button. Right or left handed, most people will will use their thumb to press these key buttons, but when pressing the laser button you invariably press the page forward/backward buttons, and no I don't have fat fingers!
Summary: I bought one of these 2 years ago and I just loved it. I got another one for work and the one I got this time is of slightly worse quality. The plastic used just seems cheaper and the gaps between the buttons are irregular. Despite that it works just fine and does what it should. What is much better about this one than some of the competition is that the USB dongle fits into the remote and it also has a nice case.
Summary: A very nice and easy to use item, plug in the USB receiver and you're going within seconds. Unfortunately, I have only given this three stars as it wasn't very durable and only lasted 4 months - I dropped it once and this dislodged the laser bulb. This was difficult to get back into position and after that first time, the bulb frequently moved around afterwards. Eventually the blub snapped off entirely and I've had to buy a new Powerpoint presenter...
