"No Bueno!!"

nseago, CNET
16 May 2012
  • Pros: It looks good...
  • Cons: The reviewer of this remote cant possibly have used the same remote as I purchased. Go buy a $30 multi-remote from a drugstore. Same functionality with a lot less cost involved.

"Not worth it. Go for the IR version (Harmony One)."

bkmerrill, CNET
1 May 2012
  • Pros: Touch screen is great. I didnt find the software hard to use at all. Setup was fairly simple for the technologically inclined.
  • Cons: LAG! The lag induced by the RF-IR blaster setup is extremely frustrating sometimes, particularly when trying to change channels or volume quickly. Also the motion sensor is not very good...sometimes you have to shake the remote to get it to wake up.

No support after 90 days

Walmart
14 June 2010
  • Summary: I bought this remote based on the reviews on this site but they forgot to indicate there is no free support after 90 days. After that period you have to pay 30$ just to talk to customer service. Now every time my cable company makes a change or I change a device I have to pay 30$ to have tech support help with the changes and trust me you will need tech support. Many of the devices and the commads are not working properly and only tech sup. can fix the problems.

"Not well thought out, disappointing."

djrobx, CNET
31 January 2010
  • Pros: Finally, RF control for the Harmony One Improved LCD display Easy internet-based programming.
  • Cons: You CANNOT upgrade from Harmony One. You must re-do everything. Bulky "IR blasters", bad approach. Very poor key responsiveness. Terrible setup UI for advanced users. Slow touch-screen animations, no sequences.

"Does not work from 30 feet away!!!!"

bab60143, CNET
7 November 2009
  • Pros: Very simple and powerful for simple 1 room configurations. RF is nice for components hidden away in a cabinet.
  • Cons: Contrary to the advertised RF range of up to 100ft, this remote's RF range is only about 30ft (and not even that if going through a floor). Logitech's 890 also advertises a 100ft range and actually has that kind of range in the same home setting.

"Difficult to program existing RF devices"

MissouriDoug, CNET
25 October 2009
  • Pros: IR programing was fast and easy with the computer interface.
  • Cons: I already have one RF device. I was on hold with customer service for 1 hour 3 different times and never got to talk to anyone. I've emailed them twice for support, and no replies. The remote is going back to the store

  • Summary: Have also changed me from a 885 to a 900 with the hope of great deeds. It did not live up to my expectations. A maximum of 5 m, the range, sometimes I have problems in just about 3 meters, that's really bad for an otherwise good remote (ergonomic). Too bad that they removed the possibility of sequences. Have emailed support and they would contact me this week, hopefully they might do something about it.

  • Summary: I have owned this since it came out, it's a really good remote control with two large and one small flaw that pulls down the overall rating: * No macros! Inexplicably decision from Logitech and my biggest objection to the remote. * Poor software to program the remote. It is conceived as a form where you can answer questions about their setup.
