"Harmony 890 is an excellent, cheap, reliable solution"

Nicholstv, CNET
25 June 2010
  • Pros: it's a cheap and totally reliable way to consolidate the remotes. Also allows you to put your devices behind a cabinet.
  • Cons: none. Some people may not find the internet set-up simple.

"Easy setup, full featured, easy to use"

jacrider, CNET
1 April 2010
  • Pros: Less than 30 minutes to configure with my computer. All components supported, even AppleTV. Rechargeable with a dock is convenient. Fairly inexpensive, $149.
  • Cons: Very little. The unit could feel more "substantial" in your hand, but that is minor.

"Great remote, easy setup, going on 15 months of use."

IceEmQuick, CNET
2 January 2010
  • Pros: VERY easy setup. I'm confounded by those who say you have to be tech savy to setup. Try setting up a Philips Pronto and get back to me on hard to setup. RF and PS3 module work excellent. Controls 3 rooms worth of electronics. What more do I need?
  • Cons: The RF extenders do require IR wires to be run do the devices. This remote is NOT going to replace those bose RF units, but there is no remote that comes with everything to do that anyway. Buttons ergonomics are not the best.

Logitech Harmony 890 Advanced Universal Remote Control

MrAichpop, Rate it all!
15 October 2009
  • Summary: I was given a Harmony 670 as a bridal party gift (Best Bridal Party Gift I ever got!!) and realized what I was missing out on. While finishing my basement I needed an RF remote since all my equipment would be in a closet. PLUS I wanted Z Wave control for the lights. While there were some options none fit the bill as nice as the 890. Of course there were some hi tech options out there, but this remote needed to be, oh I've heard it called, wife friendly.

Excellent Remote

Jessica, B&H Photo
2 January 2009
  • Summary: This remote is for the technologically savy. You don't need to be an electronics expert to figure out but if you are a baby boomer generaly it might be a little much. It it very easy to program with a computer, the program takes you step by step on how to do everything. Customer service is available over the phone is case you get in a jam. I still haven't. Once you set everything up chances are you will not need to go back to do anything.
  • Pros: Durable, Easy To Program, Easy To Set Up, Strong Signal
