Not all it's cracked up to be

travisrgeorge, CNET
6 March 2012
  • Summary: Apparently I pressed the touch screen too hard and it cracked. Think about that: it's a touch screen, and you have to press it softly. That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard. So now I can't read anything on my screen. What kind of shoddy material is this made out of? Ever heard of gorilla glass?
  • Pros: Customizable
  • Cons: Cheap screen/hardware; terrible customer service

Not For the Tech Savvy

Dave H., Newegg
21 November 2009
  • Summary: If you are a techy I would pass on this product and look for something else. Very big disappointment.
  • Pros: Works as described. Easy to setup
  • Cons: Macro support (Activities) may be good for those who are unable to work their Video Sound system but are lame for anyone who want to be inventive. Range not that good

Cool product, but the display stops working after 13 months of very light use

Rodrigo B., Newegg
3 November 2008
  • Summary: Buy with an extended warranty, you will need it!
  • Pros: I enjoyed the product for 13 months until the display stopped working. I was able to control everything via RF extender in a separate room DVR, MVIX, Receivers, Dish Network, dvd, and home theater receiver by activity
  • Cons: The display stopped working after 13 months, and it only comes with 1yr warranty. Logitech knows displays are defective and said "We are sorry, buy will have to pay for repair and shipping or buy a new one"did not want to stand by the product some times it hangs and battery needs to be taken out ...

Do Not buy this product

Tom C., Newegg
11 October 2008
  • Summary: I was taking a big step by spending almost $300 for a remote control. I am greatly disappointed in this remote. I think it needs a generational leap in technology to easily do what they say it can do. Like artifical intelligence! ("What are you doing dave?
  • Pros: As everyone has said in these reviews, this thing controls just about everything. Even Windows Media Center, which almost no universal remote can operate. That is one of the main reasons I spent up to $300 for this thing.
  • Cons: Hard to update the remote. I spend up to 15 minutes connecting and reconnecting the receiver to get the computer to recognize it. Then I would get that working, but than it wont recognize the remote, so you have to start all over again. It takes me about 45 minutes everytime I need to update it. ...

Poor design...

Timothy M., Newegg
19 November 2006
  • Summary: I was very dissapointed with this remote and took the second one I purchase back to the retailer. I would have purchased this remote from Newegg, but I was aware of the problems that I had with my previous remote and knew that there was a chance that I would have to return it.
  • Pros: When it works, it will control all of your components, even through the solid theatre cabinets. The RF extender is a great idea and is easy to install.
  • Cons: The first remote I purchased through a local electronics merchant. The remote was fairly difficult to program, but I was prepared for that since I also own a Harmony 880. Within the first 2 weeks, one of the buttons from the keypad fell off of the remote and could not be re-attached. I returned i...

Worst Mistake Ever

Anonymous, Newegg
6 November 2006
  • Summary: I am extremely dissapointed in Logitch and their support staff. Evertime I call in they have me do the same stuff over and over and is a waste of time. I definately would not buy one of these untill they fix the mess.
  • Pros: Has the potential to be a great remote. When it works it's a dream...sort of.
  • Cons: If you are a power user "you like to enter the chanel numbers to go straight to the channels" you won't really like the positioning of the number keys. The remote is very slippery and it's easy for it to fall out of your hand...especially when using the number buttons. This thing has been a nitem...
