Summary: My family and I have been using this remote since November 2011 and have not had any major issues with it. This is my first experience with any universal remote control. At the time of it's purchase (November, 2011), I needed to control a Directv receiver box, my A/V receiver, our DVD/VCR device, a Roku box and eventually, a home theater PC. I needed to keep the cost as reasonable as possible to keep it within the "spouse acceptance factor.
Pros: Allows use of one remote to control many devices. Rechargeable, meaning no expensive batteries to replace. Feels good in your hand.
Cons: My computer will NOT charge the power. Needs to use the wall charger that came with it.
Summary: This is my first Harmony Universal remote and I like it a lot. Its not so huge and clunky that its uncomfortable to use. It was easy to program by plugging into the pc and going through the online configuration. The 700 is not the top of the line series, but it did everything for my purposes as I dont have a million devices and didnt need a touch screen on my remote.
Pros: Easy to program. Configurable with wide range of devices. Eliminates need for other remotes.
Cons: Slow to recharge. Sometimes drops commands. Cant put it in a default mode upon startup.
"It works, and has two configurators, basic and advanced"

Pros: Windows and Mac OS support, plus Firefox support. Logitech Harmony Remote 7.7.0 software has significantly more function and flexibility than the default online setup. Good enough for my modest needs.
Cons: Documentation didn't indicate that Harmony Remote Software 7.7.0 was a downloadable alternative to the default "simple" online configurator. Backlight and a charging dock would be nice, but not essential for me.
Excerpt: This unit strikes a fair balance between cost and performance. I had a Harmony 890 before this which started showing its age after many years and needed to be replaced. My chief complaints about the entire Harmony series are as follows: 1. There is no way to hard-code the volume control to,...
Excerpt: I recently purchased the Logitech Harmony 700 Universal Remote for my husband who has a million emotes laying around all over the house. I purchased the remote right from the Logitech website for $149.99 on the Internet. It was so easy to shop for it this way and saved me a great deal of time. The Logitech Harmony 700 Universal Remote has many unique features. The universal remote will last a week for me and my family in between charges.
Summary: Replaced an older Sony remote (now discontinued) that was difficult to program. This is easier, but my Sony components are over 5 years old, so programming required more interaction by me. It is relatively simple to operate, but I don't think it's as good as the Sony remote it replaced. Even so, given the choices out there I would recommend it. Low price and small size, though, are great.
Pros: Nice Features, Rechargable batteries, Small footprint
Cons: Programming issues, Requires time to program
Summary: Wow! This remote is better than I even expected. The only con I can find is that while I have had it only 1 week, the directions say it should be charged every 7-10 days which seems like a pain. The pros are endless. It couldn't be any easier to program, download the software and answer some questions and the basic programming is all done. If you like to tweak things like I do, you can customize any button you want to do just about anything you want it to do.
Pros: Easy To Program, Easy To Set Up, Nice Button Configuration, Nice Features
