Very pleased

Stephen G., Newegg

  • Summary: I found this to be an excellent remote. In contrast to another review, mine came in OUTSTANDING condition -- I couldn't even tell it had been refurbished. I purchased mine Nov. 9, 2012, and as of today (April 21, 2014) it is working perfectly. I have never had any trouble with it at all.
  • Pros: Very nice remote; sends strong signal such that you don't even have to be pointing directly at the device to control it, backlight is a great feature, nice ergonomics, screen is sharp and plenty of resolution. The remote does everything I hoped it would and more.
  • Cons: The backlight lights up all buttons EXCEPT those above the screen (the "all off" button, the "watch a movie" and "watch tv" buttons, etc. This is a only a minor annoyance, as these buttons are not ones you use more than once (i.e. when turning on or off a device), but still they should be back-lit.

Day to day use of a Harmony 700

  • Summary: My family and I have been using this remote since November 2011 and have not had any major issues with it. This is my first experience with any universal remote control. At the time of it's purchase (November, 2011), I needed to control a Directv receiver box, my A/V receiver, our DVD/VCR device, a...
  • Pros: Allows use of one remote to control many devices. Rechargeable, meaning no expensive batteries to replace. Feels good in your hand.
  • Cons: My computer will NOT charge the power. Needs to use the wall charger that came with it.

  • Summary: Whoever is "refurbishing" these remotes for Logitech needs a new career. There are clear signs of heavy use (buttons worn down, lcd screen scratched, etc...), the remote is malfunctioning and there was clearly no "refurbishment" done to this used remote, but hey I did get free pine straw in the box...
  • Pros: Cheap Newegg's shipping
  • Cons: No quality control Product shows heavy signs of use Faulty USB cable included Remote still faulty No documentation or installation materials included

Crippled Product - WORTHLESS Support

Dennis P., Newegg
3 July 2012
  • Summary: Volume issue resolved when I figured out you had to hold the UP volume for more than 10-12 seconds before it (sometimes) worked. They thought that was OK, and pronounced that issue resolved.
  • Pros: On the plus side, the online programming interface is pretty easy, on-line experience is simple, and I had no problem finding all my components in their database. Unfortunately - as noted in my diatribe above - this device just doesn't work well at all. Customer support came up quickly twice, tho...
  • Cons: Programmed two basic activities: Watch TV and Watch DVD. First involves turning on my LG 47LM7600 TV (2012 model, 3D with WiFi - brand new), turning on my Cox Scientific Atlanta Explorer 4242HDC cable box, and turning on my Yamaha Home Audio-visual Receiver RX-V373 (brand new) switching to the ri...

Almost Great

Jonathan P., Newegg
26 January 2012
  • Pros: The remote is easy to setup and has the remote codes for every piece of equipment that I have. Moving remote (lifting, twisting, etc.) will automatically activate the back-light.
  • Cons: The remote comes with rechargeable batteries, but there is no battery meter. This means that the remote will all of a sudden state that the batteries need to be recharged. This is very inconvenient. What makes it worse is that you can't use the remote while it is recharging. I would strongly reco...
