Excerpt: I bought this as a gift to my wife since she was so frustrated by three remotes to watch TV (TV, cable, receiver) and totally kerfuddled about trying to do something like switch to Netflix.
So far, problem solved! Set up was quite easy, but be sure to gather all your device data first.
Summary: The higher level harmony remotes have gone to less buttons and using different press times to get different functions and the touch screen, which are much harder to use even though they look simpler.
Excerpt: I recently purchased 2 of these remotes for my extremely cluttered entertainment center. I have to admit, I was not optimistic about their claim that it would "fully replace all of my remotes" Especially for a device that costs as much as $ I have to say I am very suprised about how wrong I have...
Summary: I purchased this unit to help make the settings easier for my wife when she plays her karaoke setup. The concept of a single button to turn on multiple items really helped make this a simple operation.
Pros: The device seems to work well; the web site was very user friendly in almost every situation. It really helps make using the entertainment system easier.
Cons: I am still having issues with one single feature when playing the Karaoke unit, although the karaoke unit is not a covered device type. If I continue to have issues, I will call their customer service but I am sure I can resolve the issue on my own.
Summary: This is a very easy to set up remote. I finally provided a single remote for the living room. It runs my stereo and TV set up. With the four modes it is easy to switch from listening to music to watching Netflix etc.
Summary: The 650 remote was quite easy to program through the Harmony site for the major functions (10 minutes) as i have a basic bedroom setup Pioneer Receiver, Direct TV, Sony Blue Ray and and LG HD. Basic function work great at times with IR strength.
Pros: Basic functions work, good remote signal at times with inline obstructions. Good coverage for Directv remote functions. Button light up when operated. Great price.
Cons: Buttons are quote small and lack tactile feel.
Excerpt: Product works as advertised by Logitech. Excellent wizards for setup for the novice. Only caveat is you need a PC with Internet to do the easy-peasy setup. I knocked off 1 star from perfect rating due to slightly small buttons and labels on the remote.
Summary: The online software is a little clunky and slow, but not too bad once you get used to it. Remote is easy to program. Remote is a little slow to work with activity buttons because it sends each command code individually.
Pros: Good value for what this remote offers. Works as advertised. I am happy with the purchase. All of my equipment was in the device database. The kids like to use it.
