Summary: The Harmony 650 remote was great when it was new. However, the number buttons started to fail intermittently after a year and a half. Now at about the two year mark, the number buttons hardly work at all, and the thin black coating is wearing through at the edges of the buttons. It also goes through batteries so fast that I wished I had the rechargeable unit. This remote doesn't receive a lot of use so I'm surprised at how bad it is after two years of use.
Summary: We got one to run TV, cable, and ROKU player. After 3 months, we have to use all the remotes to operate everything--the Roku player is inoperable because we can't turn it on without syncing to a remote and Comcast doesn't support it. Want to throw away!
Summary: I wanted to really love this remote (as I do my other Logitech products). I would love for Logitech to implement a time link of when devices are activated (such as how many seconds after TV is turned on it should activate input/channel switching). or even recognize when a device is already on. While I have the ability to navigate within these issues, no one else in my house can. Seems as if we end up pressing the help button more than any other function/button.
Summary: If you like to read screens and constantly press buttons that the remote requires before you can use it then its for you. I personally don't like 100 actions of help and did you know before using a remote...
Summary: When the 650 works, it works great. This won't last long though. I've had mine for about 18 months and now some of the most used buttons are not working. Others on this review stream seem to have the same problems. I've contacted customer service. Since it is just out of warranty, they tell me its trash and to buy a new one as no repair can be done. After a year of use, consider yourself on borrowed time.
Summary: Super easy to setup and generate macros. I really like the remote when it works. That's the problem though, it constantly crashes and goes into assistant mode. If I give it a nice rap on the side of the remote it will work for a couple of days. Eventually it will go back into the crash loop though. I've performed all the troubleshooting stuff and it just won't work consistently.
Summary: this remote is very slow. theres a delay when pushing buttons. sometimes i press it 4 times until it works. batteries go dead fast but you have no way to know. it constantly get messed up. to correct you hit help which manually guides you through setting everything right which takes longer than getting up and doing it manually. im actually gonna throw it in the garbage and buy something different. it also is a pain with a ps3 system.
Summary: I've owned the 650 for about 6 months now and I wouldn't recommend it. The computer software is awkward to use and doesn't include some devices like Apple TV. The remote constantly resets itself requiring to press an Activity button again and sometimes a button will randomly not work properly or very slowly.
Summary: Along with a number of other Logitech products, I previously had a Harmony 550 remote that I was extremely pleased with - it worked flawlessly. When the 550 finally gave it up for the ghost, I purchased the 650 which has never worked quite right. Some times it works, some times it doesn't. It is highly inconsistent. Whereas the 550 controlled up to 15 devices, the 650 controls only 5.
Summary: I bought this remote after years of loving my harmony 550 (still using it in another room). This device is not a worthy successor to the 550. I frequently have to make manual corrections to the setup because this remote does not preform the macros correctly and some device will not be setup right or stay on when it should be off. The color LCD screen sucks power compared with the old monochrome screen meaning I have to replace the batteries about twice as often.
