Finally a foolproof remote

Arthur S., Newegg
10 August 2012
  • Pros: What a joy: A remote that basically programs itself. No room for operator error unless you input the wrong model? Download the software from myharmony.com, register, plug the device into your computer, add the make and model and it does the rest. All the buttons work as if it were factory. Much b...
  • Cons: So easy anyone can do it?

Major flaws

Kenneth B., Newegg
13 March 2012
  • Pros: It would probably be fine if I didn't already have a Harmony for a different system.
  • Cons: This is my second Harmony remote. I decided I liked my 700 so much that I got this one for my basement system. It wouldn't work with the Harmony Remote Software I downloaded for my 700, so I called Logitech. They told me I had to use myharmony.com and create a separate account with a separate e-m...

Does what I need

Bradley F., Newegg
2 March 2012
  • Summary: I bought this remote to work with CrystalBuntu/XBMC on ATV v1. Loaded with the plex player profile every button works in XBMC, finally a decent remote to use with my ATV.
  • Pros: Easy setup, plenty of buttons
  • Cons: This remote is configured through a webpage on Logitech's website. This page isn't exactly easy to find.

Great remote for small setup

Victoria Y., Newegg
29 January 2012
  • Summary: Got this from the 'egg as a refurb. All in all, a good replacement for the four remotes I had to alternate using. May get the 650 for the living room, but will research a bit more. Logitech could lock down the remote market with just a few adjustments to this product line.
  • Pros: Easy to setup My Harmony acct. online and configure devices. Programming remote went smoothly, and it does everything I need for the four devices it controls.
  • Cons: Ergonomics are a bit clunky, not as comfortable in hand as the remotes it replaced. Not backlit, so in the dark you are on your own. Would like the rubberized bottom the DirecTV remote has; this one is a bit slippery.

Good remote

Anonymous, Newegg
28 January 2012
  • Summary: You can buy some really cheap remotes that have about the same functionality.
  • Pros: Nice looking, smooth edges, good solid feel, easy to program.
  • Cons: Bought it to replace the worn out remote for a DVD recorder. Using it started to reveal a lot of flaws in the design. First, it had no button for going into program mode so I had to keep using the original remote. Then with further use the clear key at the bottom proved to be extremely awkward to...

  • Cons: Somewhat weird shape. Fat on the bottom.

  • Pros: Awesome remote controls my tv, cable box, surround sound system, and even xbox 360.
  • Cons: For once newegg is more expensive. I picked this up at Radio Shack for 25$ on sale.

Logitech Harmony 300 Remote Control

John, ReviewStream

  • Excerpt: I purchased this remote about a month ago and it has worked wonderfully since I purchased it. I have not had any problems with this remote and it has worked as well as I expected. I purchased this remote for 30 dollars and I believe it was …

Almost great

James F., Newegg
8 December 2010
  • Summary: Get the version below this one if you only have a few devices to control.
  • Pros: Pretty colors, Logitech's online database has a ton of goodness, super easy setup. Help button greatly increases the WAF.
  • Cons: If you don't set it down gently it turns off. Battery life is relatively poor but not horrendous.

An Excellent Find

Teddy M., Newegg
20 October 2010
  • Pros: I simply neeeded a remote to replicate the duties of a broken remote for an outdated product (Optama has terrible support for it's projector remotes). Not only did the Harmony remote work perfectly with the projector but I was able to map my blue ray player, receiver, and cable box to the remote....
  • Cons: This is the most bare bones version of this company's remote and so some minor inconveniences (having the buttons light up for a longer time, seeing which of the devices are toggled) are issues. If you want to pay for the little touch screen that would make this the perfect product then fine. Eve...
