Logitech Harmony 1100i Advanced Universal Remote Review

thinkdigit.com
27 January 2012
  • Summary: The Logitech Harmony 1100i is a capable 3.5-inch touchscreen universal remote that isn't very complicated to use. It has a design that separates it from the rest of the remotes. While not everyone may be comfortable with it, the touchscreen bit is fun to use. However, the price is a bit too steep, and the consumer demographic will be limited to those who have a high-end home theater setup, and/or want an equally snazzy remote to complement it.
  • Pros: Simple set-up, Controls 15 devices, Good remote range and signal, Touchscreen works well, Tablet style design is comfortable to hold, Charging dock included
  • Cons: No RF module as a part of the package, Post setup configuration is confusing, Too many screens for certain devices, It costs a lot of money

Logitech's latest Harmony universal remote control.

Good Gear Guide.au
17 February 2010
  • Summary: The Logitech Harmony 1100i universal remote control will control just about every electronic device on the planet (bar the PlayStation 3). The interface could be a little faster, but the 1100i is still a great way to replace that stack of plastic on your coffee table.
  • Pros: Customisable interface, controls multiple devices simultaneously, huge remote control database, "learn remote" feature
  • Cons: Some interface lag, remote can get confused, no Bluetooth

  • Excerpt: Have you ever had that dream of one day replacing the cluster of remotes by the sofa with a single master device that can control everything? Remotes were a good idea at first - save viewers from repeatedly getting out of their comfy chairs to change channels. But the idea soon backfired as we reached the dawning of the VCR.
