Summary: After setting up a system consisting of 6 devices in my lounge, I was the only person in the house that could operate it. As you can imagine, that has created a lot of tension and brought me to the brink of divorce. This little box has saved my marriage Initially I was looking for something simpler, but have found an offer for the 1100 that was too good to pass, so ended up getting it knowing not much more than it is supposedly "top of the range" universal remote.
Pros: Drives any IR device, supports sequences of commands, looks good
Cons: Touchscreen not ideal for some remote functions
Pros: Very easy to set up, I just decided before hand what I wanted the remote to do, then very intuitive to set up on the logitech web site. Great little remote. Many comments on it, when friends come over.
Cons: Clicking sound when u choose an option, seems more mechanical than Digital. Gets annoying to me, Also should have a better choice of types of Icons to setup in the remote. Could be more intuitive, with Pictures rather than have to read it.
Summary: This company was once a fantastic company.. until recently. I've seen a huge decline in it's service and overall product quality. I had this remote until this weekend when i was prompted by the Logitech Harmony Software (provided by them) to upgrade the firmware.. This completed safely.. and asked me upgrade the remote software. Which is when I learned that the remote NO LONGER had the ability to communicate with the computer, rendering it BROKEN. I called tech support..
"Touch screen no good and Logitech will not replace it"
18 January 2012
Pros: Color screen is nice with large icons compared to wand style remotes.
Cons: Buyer beware! If the touch screen breaks, Logitech will not replace it even if it is a factory defect. Had one for just over 30 days and it is now just an expensive paper weight. Broke in my hand with no abuse. Did not drop it or drop anything on it.
