Summary: I was a bit worried the remote wouldn't work from the fly bridge on my boat. After I installed it, I couldn't wait to test it. Before I knew it, I was sitting in my captain's chair turning the volume up and down with no problem. So nice to adjust the volume now from my fly bridge with the Alpine CDE-143BT stereo in the cabin.
Cons: I wish it could seek pre set stations on the radio versus scanning to the next available station.
Summary: nothing else sounds like an alpine. great remote. simple, straight forward hookup, everyone else is doing the "remote aiming technique", no aiming needed, just press the button.used with ida 305
Conclusion: I have a convertible....I can control my system from out side the car... dont have to point a remote at the stereo... just push up or down. simple easy to use.. easy to install love it recomended...

Conclusion: I needed a remote that could control the head unit installed in my '56 Ford hot rod. The head unit is hidden in the glove box, about 5 feet away from the driver's seat and behind a very heavy steel door (like they USED to make cars). The RUE-M1RF was the perfect solution. Even though the receiver is sealed away in the glove box, I have complete control of the sound system without having to take my eyes off the road. I highly recommend this product.
Summary: I bought this remote for my iDA-X100. It works fine, after I discovered you have to depress the "OFF" button to turn the unit on and off, while the owner's manual sez to use the SRC button. The switch membrane also seems to stick occasionally, which can result in constant transmission. But otherwise, it works like a champ, and I like the idea of a small waterproof remote that uses RF rather than IR for marine use - which means you can use it outside.
Summary: I purchased this unit hoping to control my Head Unit from the water. It works from a pretty good distance . . .but I have to push the buttons quite a bit. Almost like they are not working 100% of the time. Kind of bites cuz if you hold the remote and the volume goes WAY up. I have about 2000 Watts RMS (need to be able to bring volume down quickly) on my boat, it takes a good while for the volume to go down. The buttons stick a little also.
Conclusion: I have this unit attached to my Alpine DVA-9861 on my 40' boat. The Head Unit is below in the living quarters and the remote is up at the bridge. The RF receiver plugs into the back of the HU where the steering wheel control would attach. The attachment looks like a little headphone jack and there is also a +/- attachment and another wire that you attach to 12v to link the remote to the receiver.
