Happy

Craig, Crutchfield
18 May 2015
  • Summary: Works as advertised. It does have to be aimed more/less directly at the radio head unit to work. I'm using it with the Alpine CDE-154BT and while the remote does not control much of what the receiver is capable of doing, it does control all of the basics.
  • Pros: As already mentioned.
  • Cons: As already mentioned.

Durable, functional.

Vinnie, Crutchfield

  • Summary: I purchased this remote to complement my Alpine CDE-154BT head unit. It allows me to operate most of the functions of my receiver, but there are a few that are inaccessible with the remote. I expected this and it's completely understandable.
  • Pros: Easy to use. Works as you'd expect.
  • Cons: None

Great, Simple Remote

Brent, Crutchfield
13 April 2015
  • Summary: I've had Alpine CD Players for years and have really enjoyed them. This remote works on most Alpine CD players and is great. It's simple and easy to use without a lot of extra bells and whistles. I'd recommend this remote to anyone who has an Alpine CD Player

IR, not RF -- BEWARE

tom, Crutchfield
3 February 2015
  • Summary: Be aware that this is an IR remote, not RF. You must point it directly at the head unit for it to work. There are other remotes (not for Alpine) that use RF, so you can have the remote mounted somewhere in your cockpit and just press the buttons.
  • Pros: Inexpensive
  • Cons: IR and not RF

Gets it done!

Ivan G., Crutchfield
25 November 2014
  • Summary: This unit works as advertised, what's to like? I've had several Alpine head units since about 2001 and they al worked with this remote. This is the first I buy, the one it replaces fell from the window at a highway... never ever failed
  • Pros: Sturdy, bult with very good materials. Very comfortable in the hand. Diferent buttons make it easy to use it with out even looking at it.. becomes an extension
  • Cons: ...can't think of any cons
