Summary: I've lived in somewhere around 30 homes, owned several fridges over the years. Never have I seen a worse product, especially considering the price tag. We've had this one about 4 years. Within months of purchase, it leaked onto the floor constantly. We didn't realize it at first and ended up having to completely replace the laminate flooring in the kitchen and replace the cabinets on either side. Got no help from either Whirlpool or Lowes.
Summary: Same problem as the other reviewers, but ours lasted 4.5 years. We bought it new and recently had issues with the defrost cycle. We had a very nice and knowledgeable local repairman come in and look at it. We've replaced the control board and hoping it will do the trick. This is clearly an issue with this refrigerator and I would expect Whirlpool would take steps to correct and rectify this problem.
Summary: As in the other reviews, our fridge stopped making ice, the drain line froze, and we have discovered the problem is within the sealed system. Sears and Whirlpool aren't doing much to help. Don't buy a Whirlpool.
Summary: At first, it seemed like a great refrigerator/freezer. It had tons of space, but the freezer leaked everyday and wouldn't stop! We had to replace it and it ruined my hardwood floors. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS!
Summary: As other reviewers have noted, these Whirlpool refrigerators are junk. We have one - not this exact model but close enough - and have the same issues - just after the warranty ran out the control board had issues and it stopped auto-defrosting which caused it to get warm inside due to blocked air flow. The repair was about $300. And a year later, this has happened again.
Summary: A couple of years ago this fridge had pretty good reviews, so I ignored the warnings and bought it. What could go wrong? I thought people who needed a door alarm must be pretty unconscious. Well, my bad. These doors don't close like single doors; there's a mechanism in the middle and it sometimes keeps the doors from closing. You find out the next morning, when the fridge has given up and everything is warm and ruined. The freezer has a similar problem.
Summary: We've had this fridge for a little over 3 years and it has now broken down for the second time. Very expensive piece of junk. I think Whirlpool's engineers got a little ahead of themselves on this one. Do not buy.
Summary: After 2 1/2 years, the defrost unit failed. It cost over $400 to get it repaired, plus the cost of replacing the spoiled food. I regret buying this refrigerator and now I'm worried about it happening again.
Summary: I am a bit disappointed with this fridge. I was very much looking forward to it and researched and chose this unit. The front of the fridge looks greet, but the sides are an UGLY dark gray orange peel textured service. Since this is not counter depth and sticks out a few inches. The gray is very niticeable, black would have been much better. Do like the roomy inside, ice maker and cold filtered water.
Summary: I have had this fridge for 2 years, and it has defrosting issues. The only thing Whirlpool can tell me do is replace are the items mentioned in the above review. I replaced then all and It still doesn't work.
