Summary: Not even 4 years old and my $1200 outdoor refrigerator is DOA... unit has caused occassional exploded sodas and beers numerous times over the four years and then just quit working. Unit has not been moved since installed in very well protected from sun and rain backyard island, and somehow it lost its freon. Talked to numerous other local service firms and they all said that Summit is known for having quality issues and not the best to work with with warranty claims.
Summary: Purchased the Fridge for an under counter install outside on the covered patio. It cools down our drinks--very well. Gets down to 33degrees i believe. Only challenge...Light seems to be "on" or "off" --not activated by the door opening. Not often we need it on a lighted covered patio. Gave it four, b/c I still find it incredible how much these small 24" fridges cost.
Summary: Have had the unit a month. Quality appears very good. Would change the handle from vertical to horizontal to keep fingerprints off the stainless when closing. Would also add an interior light. Finally, was a little surpirsed that the minimum recommmended outdoor temperature was 40 degrees F.
Summary: I really like the look of this refridgerator[...]. The reason I originally chose this item, was because it is one of the only ALL stainless steel outdoor refridgerators that is UL LISTED. Many were not UL listed, and much less expensive, but you cannot compromise on health and safety, which in this case, could easily be life or death, especially when a pool is nearby.
