Summary: We have owned this model for over 2 years now. Beautiful exterior, runs almost silent. We needed a counter depth and really liked the interior layout glass shelves etc. We bought from Sears with their a 3 year extended warranty ( I usually never buy them) but we never had a Samsung appliance before, just in case of problems. In the first 3 months or so I was having ice maker/water dispenser problems. It worked but very slow to fill a glass and make cubes.
Summary: Okay fridge. I paid $2500 when it first dropped. Definitely NOT worth that price. I've had countless issues with the ice dispenser. Always clogs up, slow at making the ice, and now the ice dispenser is just flat out broken. No issues with the fridge itself, or the freezer. But with how poorly the ice dispenser is, is the reason why I give this product 2 stars.
Summary: Works quickly and quietly. So far, I am pleased with the performance. My one complaint is that is intended as a counter-depth refrigerator, but the hinge covers for the doors are large and bulky. As a result, the height may be non-standard. I had to remove some cabinet doors for a cabinet above the refrigerator because they were blocked by the hinge covers.
Pros: Attractive Design, Energy Efficient, Holds Temperature Well, Quiet
Summary: You think at my age I would have remembered the old adage, "Don't judge a book by its cover". This refrigerator is a real looker but falls dead LAST in performance. I do have issues with the 2 vegetable and fresh drawers not opening all the way for ease of use, but I guess I can live with that flaw, however, I have ZERO tolerance for the absolutely horrendously slow to non existent ice production that this model delivers.
Summary: We have the counter depth RSG257AARS model and are very happy with it. There are only 2 of us so a larger family would probably need something bigger but for us there is plenty of room. Wish the water filters lasted longer, but that is my only negative. Drawers don't slide all the way out but it hasn't been a problem. Very quiet, which is great, especially at night.
Summary: We had a fridge go out on us and had to buy one quickly. At the time, this fridge had decent reviews so we bought one, and were desparate for a counter depth model. In the time since, we've had the mechanical joints on the freezer door fail, just AFTER a year, so I had to order parts myself, completely disasseble the door and replace the pieces, and get it put back together.
Summary: I have owned this product for just over three years so I have some real experience with it. It is very attractive and the lighting is very cool inside. However, in less than a year, cracks appeared in the plastic molding around the tempered glass on several shelves. This is a common failure. It was fixed under warranty then they cracked again after warranty. The freezer wouldn't get cold enough after three years 6 months.
Summary: I've owned this refrigerator for 13 months. After 11 months the electronics on the freezer door already started acting up. Now at 13 months, the indicator for "cubed ice: no longer lights up and the indicator for "crushed ice" just flickers. The fridge looks nice and has adequate storage but for the price I paid, I did not expect it to malfunction so quickly! Very disappointed.
Summary: I bought a Samsung refrigerator and the freezer door broke within two weeks. We opened the door no more than 5 times. Customer service is the worst I have ever experienced. We bought a package of four Samsung appliances and two of the four did not work.
