  • Summary: We bought this model 8 months ago and we are waiting for the warranty repair man to come today because Ice maker is not working now and hasn't produced enough ice since we owned this piece of junk. The freezer is frosting up and we have it set at minus 4. Oh by the way called Samsung 3 times and waited 6 days waiting for the repairman. Oh by the way our repair window is all day today not 2hrs or 4hrs or 6hrs but ALL day.

Bad idea Ice Maker

Crystal, Amazon
19 November 2013
  • Summary: Never, ever buy a fridge, regardless of brand, that has the ice storage bucket mounted over the ice chute in the door. This model, like one put out by Whirlpool, has the entire ice dispenser in the door. I've owned one of these machines for 5 years. Paid big bucks. The ice chute at the bottom of the bucket gets clogged with the ice shavings from crushed ice and, because there is no air getting to it, it freezes solid.

  • Summary: We have had repair men out multiple times to fix the fan and cooling on this refrigerator. A very expensive and frustrating experience.

Don't buy a Samsung!

ctayjacks, Amazon

  • Summary: We have had nothing but problems with this refrigerator and we haven't even owned it for 2 years! The ice maker barely functioned, so my husband replaced the motor. This did not stop it from plugging up every few days. The shelves are not secure. Our compressor just went out. Not happy. We will not buy from this brand again, and I suggest you don't either.

  • Summary: "This refrigerator is very user friendly. The refrigerator was also crated very well with tape keeping drawers closed and all scratch surfaces covered with plastic.
  • Pros: Adjustable shelving; Ice maker in door freeing up space on the freezer side; multi drawers

wish I could give negative stars

  • Summary: Please trust me and run, don't walk away from a Samsung fridge. People often write reviews when products are newer and not after a few months of use and Samsung fridges don't last...mine made it 13 months. Samsung has some of the best looking fridges on the market, don't be taken in on their appearance, what good is a fridge if it doesn't work. I have to defrost my FROST FREE at least once a month, what a pain it is too.

  • Summary: "What is the internet saying about this Samsung Side-by-Side Refrigerator? They're positive with one caveat. Most customers love the fridge for its balance of value and high-end touches (like the LED Lighting, twin cooling system, and EnergyStar Rating). However, there seems to be an occasional issue with the ice maker, as this is the most common complaint found across multiple websites.
  • Pros: Lots of features and an attractive design for less than the usual high-end asking price.
