Summary: Reposted from my lowes.com review - spreading the word. This fridge is not worth the money! Bought this a little over a year ago and have had numerous problems.... First off, the dual ice makers are nice with 2 kids in the house. Also, I found, on consumer reports I think, that this fridge has very high humidity levels such as is found in high end fridges like Viking and Sub Zero. About those ice makers - they're loud! When the ice drops, we can hear it in the next room!
Summary: i spent probably a few weeks looking at reviews of different fridges. the more i looked, the more confusing it got. there are no appliances that seem to have great reviews in this price range, so i bought this one with hesitation. been using for a month and it works great, tons of space (we are 5 person family) ice maker and water dispenser works great. Our nanny suggested to not ever force any of the drawers shut if they are overfilled or they will break.
Summary: DO NOT BUY THIS REFRIGERATOR. immediately after 12 month warranty expired this thing started making a very loud and annoying rattling/buzzing noise. I searched the web and found that we had same problem as almost everyone else who bought this refrigerator: it has a fundamental design flaw that allows ice to build up on the coils and eventually the fan that circulates the cold air through the refrigerator starts running into that built-up ice. Very annoying.
Summary: I bought a Samsung refrigerator and the freezer door broke within two weeks. We opened the door no more than 5 times. Customer service is the worst I have ever experienced. We bought a package of four Samsung appliances and two of the four did not work.
Pros: Beautiful inside, very spacious, modern, well-lit, well-built, looks like a BMW, while the comparably-priced (considering the sale-price), US-made Whirlpool/Maytag products (and we DO try to buy US-Made products) look more like cheaply-made Chevys...
Cons: 1. The Stainless-Steel front is too shiny and sensitive to finger-prints 2. The ice-maker is very noisy when ice drops into the bucket 3. The water coming out of the dispenser is usually not cold enough, the built-in container holds only 1 liter
Summary: We have had our unit a little over a year now with no real issues. The shelves are easily adjusted, it has good illumination and runs very quietly. I have seen some comments from others saying that their unit drips water from the door. The key is to run 2 to 3 gallons of water through the door whenever you install the unit or change the water filter. The dispenser automatically stops after dispensing a gallon, so you will have to activate the dispenser a couple of times.
Summary: I bought it two years ago from Sears. The fridge has great looks and features... But wait until it stops cooling. Mine has stopped cooling three times in two years. The display will show as if it was working fine but no cooling. Had to throw away all the food.
Summary: The stainless front is never clean because the Samsung finish shows lint, dust, and fingerprints so bad (I have a stainless Panasonic convection microwave oven in the same room and you never see a print on it). The icemaker is LOUD, the fridge is LOUD, and it's always dripping down the front of the fridge. The icemaker crushes the ice even when it's on cubed so you can't use a thermos or anything other than a wide mouth glass under it or it's all over the floor.
Summary: "The icemaker works, but the ice extruder does not. Samsung is sending a new ice container )which slides in and out of the icemaker(. They believe that will taker care of the situation, but I shall see. Otherwise a very nice unit.
