Summary: I bought this fridge Nov '13 at Sears and was mfg Aug '13. Since we got it in Nov didn't use the ice maker till summer and having problems ever since. The issue is little bits of white plastic that comes from the ice. Get a half glass of ice and poor water to fill it up and look into a light or window, bunch of it floating around. I tried water from tap and from fridge door, results were the same.
Summary: I came on this site to purchase a replacement water filter and the actual refrigerator show up so I started reading the comments. And I must say this is not the best choice in refrigerator. I purchased this refrig in July of 2013 along with all other Maytag applicances for my kitchen (the Maytag appliances are running superbly).
Summary: Samsung is a great brand,...if all you want is a smartphone. Leave the the refrigeration to those who can do it well. My family has owned this model for a couple years. Save yourself some heartache and learn from my mistake, don't buy this refrigerator. Pros: Easy access via french doors, and that's about it. Cons: Had to replace ice maker x2 and the motherboard once after warranty expired. Faulty plumbing system pools water on our floor, ruined our pergo flooring.
Summary: I am an idiot for not reading the reviews. I have had this frig for just over two years. I have had at least four service calls. The last one was for the freezer (second time for that). Three weeks later I come home from work and find myself in a puddle of water from my dinning room to my breakfast nook. My entire kitchen was soaked. This was the second time my freezer malfunctioned and it spewed water from the dispenser. The first time I was home and caught it.
Summary: Despise it. Service call after service call - about 4 per year. I have had since 2010. Ice maker starts wheezing about every two months, no matter how much I baby it. I even put in an in line filter - no joy. The deli tray at the bottom of fridge never stays on tracks nor closes properly and is a royal pain to take out and clean. Ice forms under it - a big plate of ice, so I must remove it and put hair dryer on the sheet of ice to get it out.
Summary: We have had this fridge for about 6 years now and haven't had any problems at all with the fridge. So no cons, at least in our experence so far. The main things we have loved about the fridge are use of space and the design. We love the design, the use of space is wonderful. We never have to worry about things coming crashing out of the freezer on our heads. It just makes much more sense.
Summary: I have a Samsung Refrigerator which is just over 5 yrs old and needed to be repaired out of warranty. The freezer door on the actual refrigerator never really closed properly as I always had to give it an extra push to make it seal properly. After a while the problem seemed to get worse as the door at times would reamin slightly open causing food spoilage and high electric bills. I will admit I am getting older as I am a retired on a fixed income and age is settling in.
