Summary: I have a Samsung Refrigerator which is just over 5 yrs old and needed to be repaired out of warranty. The freezer door on the actual refrigerator never really closed properly as I always had to give it an extra push to make it seal properly. After a while the problem seemed to get worse as the door at times would reamin slightly open causing food spoilage and high electric bills. I will admit I am getting older as I am a retired on a fixed income and age is settling in.
Summary: Do not buy a Samsung refrigerator. I bought one and it only lasted 3 years before the temperature gauge broke. Had to pay for service and parts out of my own pocket because the warranty is only 1 year. Buy from another company.
Summary: I ordered a set of stainless steel Samsung appliances from Home Depot. What a mistake! Two of the four appliances do not work. The freezer door on the refrigerator broke after two weeks. I woke up Sunday morning to find water all over my kitchen floor and the food in my freezer unthawed. The dishwasher doesn't clean the dishes. My 13 year old Kenmore cleaned ten times better. It leaves food on all my dishes and glasses.
Summary: We have had our refrigerator for over 2 years now and have not had any problems. The freezer holds much more then my old one. Ice maker makes plenty of ice. Our old fridge didn't have an ice maker so it's nice to have ice without the trays. I think $50 to replace the water filter every 6 months is a little expensive.
Summary: While this refrigerator looks terrific in my kitchen, we've had problems with it since day one. The ice maker was broken when we received it. It took several weeks for the manufacturer's sub-contractor to fix it. Now a year later, the ice maker only works so-so (the ice comes out in huge clumps and it leaks water. ) The freezer compartment doesn't seal well and my food gets covered in ice crystals.
