Summary: We bought this refrigerator from Sears. It was great when it worked, but then the problems started ... the ice maker started to frost, the freezer rolling bar came off and finally 6m ago, the freezer and fridge stopped working ... Samsung is the only company that does not allow normal repair shops to repair the fridge and does not sell spare parts. So, we had to find a samsung 'authorized' service center (none of which work over weekends!).
Summary: This is my second Samsung product that has failed just outside the warranty period. The first was a TV. Now this refrigerator. Warranty period is one year. My grandmother's refrigerator worked for over 20 years, this one didn't even make it to three years. It just stopped cooling one day after a short power outage. Waiting on a service company now, since I can't afford to buy a new one. Will let you know the results.
Summary: I would have given this unit a 2 out of 5 stars had customer service for Samsung been terrible but I am happy to say that they have been, at least, accommodating. I have owned this unit for about 2 years but only used it for about 1.5 years (as we purchased during the process of building a house which took longer than expected). About 6-9 months ago I noticed an odd odor coming from the refrigerator portion of the unit.
Summary: I purchased this fridge after a lot of research online and in stores. It received a great rating in the latest consumer reports - and after my old fridge died unexpectedly, I had to get something new, fast. (I purchased from Lowes - very good experience with them.) I've had it installed for about a month. No problems so far.
Summary: I love this fridge, it really is cool. The double door thing is so handy. The doors hold the BIG milk jugs, and the oj. The snack drawer is nice, I have three monkies. It makes the demands for string cheese, pickles, carrots, blah blah... much easier. But that freezer... grrrr. It is a drawer and like any drawer it can and will run off the tracks. It's not a big deal when my undies drawer goes off track.
Even more interior space than I expected, but noisey

Summary: I don't really think it's louder than my side by side 10 yr old Whirlpool, but the hum is a little higher pitched and just loud enough to be annoying. The beautiful, shinny black finish scratches easily. I put up a drawing made by my 2 year old and moved the magnet slightly to straighten the drawing, and scratched the finish. It's not noticeable unless you catch it in just the right light, but enough that I will not be putting anything else on the front of the frig.
