Summary: I have had this unit 6 years. It was worked on 5 different times in the first year and finally replaced with a new unit. The ice maker has NEVER worked properly. I purchased the extended 5 year warranty and then the added another 3 years due to the ongoing problems. Now the display is gone and Best Buy can't get parts for it. I'm not sure which is worse, the L G refrigerator of Best Buy's service (Geek Squad). Both make great promises. Neither delivers on anything.
Summary: Ice maker doesn't function well at all, then plastic cracked; freezer struggles if temperature setting < 0 (which actually stopped ice maker from working; plenty of frost build up around ice maker; water leaks from door; doors don't align perfectly. Don't buy it! Be watching to see if this review gets blocked.
Summary: I had thought LG stood for quality, and was OK paying more for their product. However, from day 1 this unit never worked well. The freezer often allows ice cream, etc to thaw. The ice maker and water dispenser are the worst I have ever seen in any type of unit in my entire life. At this point, mine are totally non functional. Service has attempted to fix them 3 times. I've always experienced the "thawing ice" problem that everyone else complains about. This is worse.
Summary: This fridge SUCKS!..and not to mention LG products SUCKS. The CEO needs to step down. 1. Poor workmanship 2. Poor Customer service I found a screw frozen in the ice. I was lucky that I was not munching the ice. I called customer service and it has been 3 months and I am still waiting for a response for the repair. The Ice maker constantly leaks from the inside and outside. It actually almost ruined my hardwood floors.
Summary: I've owned LG products in the past with no issues; however I have had so many, very frustrating issues with this one, especially the ice maker. The ice maker door will not close automatically after use causing the ice to melt. Also the ice jambs coming out, comes out crushed with "cubes" selected, seems to be stuck in the mode. The ice maker makes ice intermittently and is not at all dependable.
Summary: Prior to buying this appliance I scoured the reviews...this seemed the best value for me. Two "TEMPORARY" disappointments...First the items were freezing on the refrigerator side...once temp set at 42 degrees vs. recommended 38 degrees no further problems...second as soon as the one year warranty expired (just my luck!) the ice dispenser began leaking...the flap was sticking open and the flap and solenoid needed to be replaced..
Pros: Performance, Features/Settings, Quality, Style/Design, easy to use, customer satisfaction
Summary: Without a doubt, the worst L.G. product that I have ever owned. Makes a "Clucking" noise every 15/20 minutes + the ice maker only produces cubes-the crush option stopped righ after the warranty expired. The ice maker is very, very slow to produce which are usually hollow cube that melt instantly + everyday we are sticking kitchen knives up into the ice opening due to jams-every single day & sometimes two, three times.
Summary: We have had this Refrigerator for nearly a month. It is a great appliance, My husband and I looked at many different makes prior. The design is elegant and I love the Ice Maker position most, as it frees useful room in the freezer. Is among the first items friends seem to notice in our new home.. Highly recommended.
Pros: Performance, Features/Settings, Quality, Style/Design, easy to use, add a best feature
Summary: This is my first LG appliance purchase.I have LG mobile phones and have been happy so I thought I would try a refrigerator. So far I am delighted. It looks good, has lots of room and I just love the temp readings right on the door.Easy ice and water fill-even large cups.Love it !!!
Summary: I have issues with the icemaker in this model. The ice often jams coming out. It randomly drops ice when not being operated and now (I have had the refrigerator for just over 2 years) water is somehow leaking behind the actual icemaker inset so I have water constantly trickling down the front and there is no way of finding out where it is coming from without a service call.
