Summary: I was so glad to see that this fridge was discontinued! It's a terrible fridge! We've had it for only 2 years now and after one year the ice maker broke twice; the fan also broke and made a horrible rattling sound. Had it repaired and now the ice maker is broken again! as well as the fan! So moisture collects in the freezer and leaves a lovely layer of ice on everything. I cannot wait to replace it! Sadly, I don't want to have it repaired a forth time.
Summary: I purchased this model in 2009 and have had recurring problems. Wihtin the first month of ownership it began leaking water from the water line. I called for service, the problem? A broken water filter. The LG technician said I must have broken it as they are very hard to break. As if I took it out and smashed. He then told me it would work without it when I asked if they would replace it and if not that I could buy one at Home Depot!
Summary: I bought all new LG appliances about 18 months ago. The fridge seal has busted twice. I have waited since Feb. 09 till March 08 and still not repaired. Glad I bought extended warranty on this one. Stove had to be exchanged within a week. Cant wait to sell these and get something better. No LG ever again.
Summary: The french doors have never worked properly - I open one door and the other pops open also. It is a poor design, and I have been very disappointed, so I am returning it for a GE Profile french door - totally different door design that won't pop the other door open when you open one side. Ice maker is also a poor design.
Summary: I like the layout of the fridge. It's easy to locate everything, and the drawers are cleverly designed to see through appropriate levels and there are lots of buttons to control the humidity levels. The fridge itself is very technologically advanced. My only complaint is the same one that many others have also cited - is that the door doesn't close easily - it sticks on the insulation, so that if you're not paying attention, it's left open.
Summary: 1/3/2010: Got this fridge yesterday from Sears except in White. Looks real nice and so far is quieter than my older one. Had a water leak in the door of this fridge on day one but after easily moving the hose coil in the chiller it stopped. The quick-connect water lines don't like to be bent so that was the issue there. The unit cooled down fast and I was able to stock the fridge in an hour after the doors were kept shut.
Summary: It is a beautiful fridge but has a few flaws that really detract. The icemaker does not make much ice and dispensing takes way too long. When you open one of the French doors it catches the other one. For a $2000 refridgerator I frankly expect more.
Summary: We have owned the Kenmore PRO or Elite French door( made by LG) with icemaker refrigerator since May of 2007. We are NOT happy with this product. It was labeled "Energy Star" and that was a big factor in our purchase, but later discovered by the Department of Energy to NOT be Energy Star compliant.
