Summary: I purchased this refrig in smooth black, looks great in my kitchen, I love the roomy-ness of the inside. I previously had a side by side and was unable to put party platters etc in it. I prefer the big single door the to French door and saved lots of money with this purchase because it is a single door, and it still has an expensive look. It's quiet, looks great, keeps things cold.. It Does NOT have a ice despenser on the door, which is fine with me.
Summary: I really love the design and functionality of this refrigerator but two things require service right now and it is just out of a year long warranty. Buy the extended warranty for this model! There is an issue with the fan and a bit of frost build up in the freezer. It is unfortunate because it has been good in every other way but now I will undoubtedly sink some money into it.
Summary: I love my new refrigerator. I did about 6 weeks of serious research before settling on this one. The interior shelving seems much more solid than other comparable models. I considered a KitchenAid and a Whirlpool but in the end - the LG had more solid reviews from consumers. The door shelving/bins have a remarkable capacity and I feel like I need to check the interior light because it's so quiet I can't tell it's plugged in.
Summary: The manual received with the unit is close, but the instructions on reversing the handle are just plain wrong. The handle left a mark on the door where it was originally installed and one of the holes for the top hinge plate was stripped. Works good though, go ahead and get it, especially if you're not changing the handle.
Summary: I love this refrigerator.....WHEN IT"S RUNNING! In two and a half years it has needed three power board replacements. Each time it goes it costs me $400 plus the loss of all of the food in it. You get no warning whatsoever. It just has no power all of a sudden. I feel that this is an overpriced piece of junk! I can't wait to buy another refrigerator and I will never buy an LG anything EVER!
Summary: I like this fridge. I wanted to go with a bottom freezer because it makes the fridge space more versatile. I wanted the pull-out drawer, but it was another $200-300 and I didn't feel like spending the extra money. I ended up buying through AJ Madison because they were having some holiday sale which seemed like a good price compared to what I had seen up to that point.
Summary: It has only been about one month and I have to say this is an excellent refrigerator. It looks good, has plenty of space and is great for organizing your food. The real test will be time. With the power saving comes a smaller compressor. Will this machine stand the test of time. Also, make sure you buy surge protection as it comes with a circuit board that needs to be protected. It is noisy and could be made quieter.
Summary: I can't believe this fridge busted the night before Thanksgiving. I've only had it since Aug. 2008 and while on vacation it doesn't get used for 3-4 months at a time. I'm never going to buy an LG appliance ever again. How much do you need to spend on appliances for them to work longer than 1 year these days?
Summary: 1 star. Only used 2 short seasons (no more than 6 months) and it quit working altogether. NO Freon. NO Cooling. Spent summer fighting with Mfg. Never returned calls. Still waiting for resolution after 4 Months. Doors easily dent.
