Excerpt: I was replacing all my appliances in my house with KitchenAid and this is a nice refrigerator but prefer my old whirlpool it has a little better design with the shelves in the side by side refrigerator.
Summary: Every thing is great about this refrigerator except the thin steel. I would have paid more to have a thicker grade steel. Within a week of installation the freezer door has a dent. Our galley size kitchen requires the refrigerator to be next to the range. It is completely enclosed except the doors. When opening the freezer door it bumps into the range knobs resulting in a dent about the size of a dime.
Pros: Easy To Use, Electronic Display, Excellent Ice Maker
Excerpt: Not built like before, quality needs improvement. For example; trim fit around the door is poor and the door alignment is poor. One would also think the drink dispenser would provide cool (chilled) water. We thought we bought the top of the line, guess not...
Excerpt: Although this refrigerator has loads of space and looks very upscale, there are some functional disappointments. The compressor seems awfully loud for the first few seconds of operation, the ice dispenser always seems to send fragments of ice onto the floor (regardless of how close you hold your glass to the dispenser), and the water dispenser is pretty slow. Also, it take a fair amount of pressure on the dispensing "paddles" to get water and ice.
Excerpt: I purchased this KitchenAid refrigerator for my new home. We looked for a long time and thought we found the perfect model. Well, we are a little disappointed. The ice machine is mounted in the freezer door so when ice drops into the ice container is sounds like something fell on the floor in the kitchen. It took a long to get used to the fact that nothing was dropping on the floor, rather it was ice dropping into the ice bucket.
Excerpt: We bought this as a Christmas gift to ourselves. Looks good, works well. We have a smaller kitchen, so the counter depth is great. I had to raise the height of the cabinets over the refrigerator, however. Ugh The motor is a bit loud. So, too, is the ice maker. The doors do not fully close after using what I consider a regular push (as opposed to a slam). We have to make sure the doors are closed before leaving the kitchen.
Excerpt: I bought this 4 months ago and it's alright but not nearly as quality of a fridge as I thought it would be. The water that comes out of the dispenser is never very cold, and the shelves are not very adjustable which really limits how you store items in the space, but for a counter depth size it looks nice and works pretty well and has a decent amount of space.
Excerpt: I've had a KA side x side w/ water and ice thru the door for the past 22 years. The only problem with the old fridg was the icemaker was really noisy. Friends w/ newer fridgs have much quieter icemakers so I was hoping for such with the new KA. However, it is very noisy and it spews ice chips everywhere! Also, there are fewer bins which are made more cheaply and the shelves are not adjustable on the new one. All in all fewer storage options.
Pros: Easy to use
Cons: h2o dispenser not cold, noisy messy icemaker, shelves not adjustable
