Summary: I bought this in August 2011. Ran well for over 3 years. I read all the reviews. Yes the lock is only to keep children out. It is not a true security lock. Yes the freezer is not much but for ice. The biggest fault is that is it not self defrosting. So be prepared to occasionally defrost the fridge manually like our grand parents had to do many years ago. It used to keep beverages good and cold on the 2 or 3 setting. Which is standard for most fridges.
Summary: Great mini fridge. I did a lot of research in order to replace an older mini fridge I sent to college with my son. I wanted a better freezer compartment, better lighting and better door storage. It needed to fit in a wet bar under counter site. This is so quiet I cannot hear it at all, which was a "must" in my home theater room. Lots of room with a large door storage area.
Summary: I have a couple of studio apartments to maintain. After 2 cheap refrigerators failed in one of the units I bought this one to replace it. Tenant loves it. This is a real refrigerator on a smaller scale with a crisper and a freezer box that actually freezes. I figure that the lower power bills will pay the price difference in about 2 years. Perfectly sized for my under counter application but the trim will allow use as a stand alone.
Summary: I have had this mini fridge for about a year now and have thought to place a review on it for others. While I feel that this fridge has SOME good qualities about it, I undeniably believe that money could probably better spent on a better quality fridge. That being said below are the reasons why.
Summary: This fridge has lots of space inside. That's the only good thing I have to say about it. It also emits a piercing high-pitched noise when it's running that gives my spouse and I a terrible headache. I'm surprised small animals aren't trying to hang themselves from the tree branches outside the window this fridge is under. If the temperature is up high enough to freeze anything in the freezer, items in the back of the fridge will also get frozen.
Summary: The outer door is reversible, but the inner freezer door is not. I wanted to put the refrigerator is in a corner, but the outer door can only open 90 degrees, After reversing the door, the freezer door cannot be opened. Had to return it.
Summary: I've heard great things about fridgidaire. I figured they've been around for a long time and are well known. The fridge looks good and seems solid. I only installed it a few days ago so time and usage will tell. THE THING THAT SUCKS IS THAT THERE'S NO SEPARATE TEMPERATURE CONTROL for THE FREEZER. If I had known this, I would have NOT purchased it.
