Excerpt: Ice cubes are thin and wet. Spent hours trying to program it, nothing worked. What the manual says, doesn't work on our machine. I called the two Electrolux approved vendors, and one wouldn't come to my area the other never return my calls. For the highest priced icemaker out there I'm not impressed at all and would not recommend this.
Summary: Have had for 2 years, no problems. Had a GE Ice maker previously, which required a new circuit board 11 months into use, with a big service call. Other reviewer stated it is loud. Had 4 different brands, GE, Electrolux, ULine and Scotts. They all make noise as ice falls If you have a tile or wood floor, you will hear it all the time. This model makes a lot of ice which we really go thru especially in the summer.
Excerpt: This unit is loud and seems to use a lot of water and electricity. The ice is soft and melts quickly in a drink. It was difficult to install and the user manual is not very clear. the biggest plus .... it goes well wtih our 5 other Electrolux appliances.
Excerpt: We purchased the Electrolux 15" undercounter ice maker for our lakehouse. We have four children and entertain frequently. Homemade ice cream each weekend is a big tradition for our family. Your ice maker makes that possible and was the perfect choice for our needs. I only wish we had purchased it years ago. It's one of our favorite additions to the kitchen/bar area!
Summary: It's okay not great, ice cubes are indented on one side (not perfect cubes), ice cubes are made in sheets that are hard to break a part. Very loud we have it installed in our pantry it would be to loud for our kitchen. Overall i would not buy this ice maker again.
Excerpt: We love the ice from this icemaker. The cleaning instructions were difficult to follow and even a certified service person had to call Electrolux support for corrrect instructions. It seems the instruction booklet is not clearly written.
Excerpt: We were looking for something more than just an ice maker. We were looking for a machine that would make more ice than we needed simply because when making home brewed ice tea, drinking a soda or just icing down a fruit punch the goal is to drink it cold. Besides Its fun filling up your glass with smaller cubes instead of having a handful of big heavy ice cubes that only wind up rushing down your glass as you try to drink spilling it all over your face and shirt.
Excerpt: Living in Arizona with the hot summers is why I bought this icemaker. It looks very nice and is built solidly. Of course, it produces tons of ice. The ice is always loose and free and is so easy to access and fill your glass or container. I got very, very tired of the noise that through-the-door refrigerator icemakers made when filling a glass or trying to fill a container. Yes, there is some noise associated with this appliance, but in is not annoying.
