User Review

mw0099, Walmart
1 March 2014
  • Summary: I like the design, self defrost, free shipping in 7 days but the first one ran for a minute and stopped. I returned it with no questions asked. I re-ordered the next day, 7 days later a new one shows up. I plug it in and it freezes up right a way, I then make an adjustment and then it stops kooling but the motor runs. I go to write a review and there out of stock? Not sure if I should stay with Danby?

Excellent DIY Kegerator Fridge

SegFaultin', Amazon
16 July 2013
  • Summary: No freezer! This makes an excellent and easy fridge to convert to a kegerator. All the coolant lines are along both sides, so the top is worry free when cutting a hole for a tower. I removed a little bit of the interior door paneling and can easily fit my 5 lb CO2 tank, 10 ft of beverage line, dual regulator, and two 5 lb corny kegs. Extremely pleased with this fridge.

Great fridge

Scott Gildner, Amazon
27 June 2013
  • Summary: I used this as a kegerator by following instructions online. Works great, fits two corny kegs and 5lb Co2 tank inside and keeps them all cold. A little noisy, I suppose, but it's in the garage and I don't really notice it.

Excellent Refrigerator

Don Grafues, Amazon
9 June 2013
  • Summary: Prior to purchasing I read the reviews and I was concerned about the condition it wold be in when it arrived. Danby must have changed packaging for it had layers of cardboard and styrofoam. There were no dents no scratches, excellent condition. The unit is running for a week now and so far no problems. Only complaint I have is the door is not easy to open. The grove at the top of the door is not easy to grab.

Solid Compact fridge, pretty spacious as a back-up

Sarah H., Amazon
6 June 2013
  • Summary: With the door open, you can hear the unit working harder. With the door closed, it purrs just like any other fridge. More spacious then I would've thought... but I wouldn't use this as your only fridge unless you're in college or you rarely cook. For people who cook a lot like myself, it's nice to have a back-up fridge that doesn't waste energy and space trying (unsuccessfully) to be a freezer.

DO NOT PURCHASE FROM THIS COMPANY.

Nicole Williams, Amazon
3 June 2013
  • Summary: A mere 3 months after purchase, our Danby fridge began to stop shutting all the way due to it's rubber falling apart. The fridge now has 3 pieces of gaffers tape holding the door shut. When contacting the company re: warranty/replacement/fixing, they only offered me $25 (after I purchased for $225). Please save yourself the trouble and order from a more reliable company on Amazon.

Leaking and does not hold a seal

kochch, Amazon

  • Summary: Had this frig for just over 5 months. The seal around the door is already warped and is causing condensation as it does not hold a seal. Very disappointed.

Great Fridge

MotherOfThree, Amazon
26 May 2013
  • Summary: One the most important qualities I was looking for was a quiet fridge as I needed it to go in my bedroom and this fridge definitely passed that test. My only issue with the fridge is that it cools unevenly. The juice I had on the bottom of the fridge and a couple water bottles on the door ended up freezing while the water bottles on the top shelf were not cold enough. I've been trying to play with different settings and hopefully I can find one that works for me.

Uneven temprature and then it broke down

Raj_brooklyn, Amazon
19 May 2013
  • Summary: Anything placed in the bottom half freezes while things at the top are under normal cooling. It is quiet and did not find any other similar product, so keeping it. Adding to the earlier review above. On an unseasonally hot day in NYC we came home to find water leaking from the refrigerator (damaging the hard wood floor), don't think it can deal with high ambient tempratures. Unfortunatelly, it was too late to return, missed it by a week.
