Summary: I was just reading Consumer Reports magazine today and this is still their top-rated side-by-side! We had to throw ours away after four short years and that was after $500 to replace an electronic control module four months prior to its demise. The broken/flimsy shelves and shooting ice maker were a minor annoyance compared to throwing away $3000.
Summary: We owned this for about 2 years and then suddenly the freezer defrosted and the refrigerator stopped cooling. We lost a lot of food. Bosch customer service was appalling so after waiting 2 weeks for someone to call we called a local service company who repaired it by replacing a part ($500) not 3 months later we are dealing with the same issue again. Instead of replacing the part we are buying a new unit from a company that makes a good product and stands behind it.
Summary: Purchased a similar model B20CS51SNS five years ago. Freezer stopped working about a year ago with all the ice-cream melted overnight. Tried pressing the super-freeze button 10 times a day to no avail. Right-hand side fridge stopped working last week. All the food got spoiled. It has been the most frustrating purchase I've ever made. Now waiting for my dealer's extended warranty comes to my rescue.
Summary: We have had this fridge for 4 years. The first one did not work at all when plugged in, so AJ Madison replaced it right away. AJ was fabulous. When 2nd one arrived our compaints were the ice flies everywhere (you need to have a bowl right under the dispenser to ensure it doesn't go all over the floor), where the filtered water comes out it's impossible for kids under 10 to use, and very little room in freezer. But you live with what you buy.
Squeakey door all the time. Not a good product for the price.

Summary: We have had this fridge for 2+ years. What attracted us to it is the looks and the brand name. Unfortunately, it is not a good product. There are two issues: extremely squeakey door and often fails to make ice. The door is the worst situation as it can not be oiled or wd40(ed). There is a plastic hinge the door rotates on and there is no way to oil it. I tried on e and became worse. The second issue is that ice maker often fails and you have to reset it.
Summary: This is the second refrigerator we have had. The first one leaked oil and would not cool properly. After 3 service calls they finally agreed to replace it. The adjustable milk drawer on the door has now broken 5 time in a years time. Also, hen you shut the refrigerator door the freezer door pops open just enough as to not set off the alarm. To make things worse the compressor is now making a loud growling noise.
Summary: The tabs on the back of the shelves in the refrigerator door keep breaking off. Returned two units to Sears. When we threatened to return the third refrigerator, Sears offered us an free extended warranty to keep it. Thank heavens as we had to replace the shelves seven times. If you are handy, you can beef up the tabs with plastic epoxy so they will last.
Summary: Even though this is a great looking and well performing fridge, it does not appear to last. Our first one lasted 2 1/2 years and had to be replaced by Bosch. The second one is going through a series of repairs (again after only 2 1/2 years of use) in which multiple parts have been replaced, thus far to no avail. Not at all what I expected from a German company.
