Summary: Even though this is a great looking and well performing fridge, it does not appear to last. Our first one lasted 2 1/2 years and had to be replaced by Bosch. The second one is going through a series of repairs (again after only 2 1/2 years of use) in which multiple parts have been replaced, thus far to no avail. Not at all what I expected from a German company.
Summary: I would not recommend this refrigerator to a friend, nor would I ever purchase it again. Here are my main issues with the fridge: - awkward storage space: there is a large piece of the fridge that is right above the top shelf and it is BIG. It takes up a third of the space on the top shelf, making that space almost useless other than putting some yogurt or small items.
Summary: This fridge came with our new high-end home. Within a couple months, running loud. Repair guy came out, tweaked it. 10 minutes later, loud again. We called and before they came back, it quit working. Ruined food, melted ice all over. Complained enough to Ferguson (company that supplied appliances for our builder), that they traded it for an equivalent fridge from different manufacturer. Hope the remaining Bosch appliances in the house don't disappoint like this one did.
Summary: We bought this four years ago and have had the exact same experience others have described. The silver bin compartment tops (in the door) came off within the first month because the plastic holes where they snap in cracked. The ice dispenser is worthless--sending the unfamilar user on a chase to pick up the ice that shot out of it off the new wood floors; this is so embarrasing for company!
Summary: Do not buy this refrigerator. We chose Bosch because of it's reputation as a high end appliance. It looks sleek and modern. But...it is terrible. We had to have the ice maker repaired FOUR times in as many WEEKS. They finally had to reroute a water line into the back of the refrigerator. This is FOUR times I had to rearrange mine and my family's schedule to be present for the repairman.
Summary: Mine is 5yr & 6mo old and I have replaced the ice maker, water inlet valve and entire door handle (came off in my hand) and now the evaporator coil is bad and the Bosch repair man said to trash it. Bosch was no help at all. Now after spending $2200 5 years ago I am buying a new fridge and it will not be another Bosch.
Summary: This refrigerator is the worst appliance I have ever owned. I don't know who says Bosch is a good brand but they obviously are morons. Not only is the appliance garbage - ours only lasted three years - but the company's customer service is the worst experience ever. I guess when you build garbage appliances, you get used to delivering lousy customer service because if they stood behind their products they would be out of business. I HATE BOSCH!!
Summary: The refrigerator fits perfectly into our space and has kept a constant temperature so far. The only problem has been with the ice maker-- the quality of the ice is terrific but it never stops making it. I have to turn off the ice maker when the bin is full or else it piles up and then falls out of the freezer. When it gets low, I simply turn the icemaker back on. Otherwise, for our 2 adult household, it seems to be working great.
Pros: Attractive Design, Easy Access, Energy Efficient, Holds Temperature Well, Quiet, Space For Tall Items
Summary: We purchased this product 3 years and 3 months ago (May 2010).On Sat Aug 17, 2013. It died. Fortunately I bought extended warranty. No weekend service calls. Make sure your appliances don't break on the weekends. Service tech said it needs new relay board which he might be able to get this week. WARNING: Do not by this piece of junk, and I you have I hope you bought the extended warranty because you are going to need it.
Summary: The plastic shelves crack with the least bit of weight, we're on our 4th round of replacements in the 2 years we've had the unit, and they're not inexpensive! Recently a fan motor in the bottom of the unit broke so the fridge made a terrible groaning noise that Bosch said was "normal." It took 2 visits from an appliance doctor and me finding a clip on Youtube of the noise and part problem to get it fixed.
