the grates scratches so easily

fairweathercook, ABT Electronics

  • Excerpt: i cook only once in a blue moon. i was shocked to see with as little use as this range has had that the grates look like they were under heavy use for years!!! i called Jenn air and spoke with Adam A. and they wouldn't exchange them or fix them. they only offered my 25% off ( which was the same price anyway from the interent). i can't really compare much else on the range since i haven't used it much and i am not much of a cook!
  • Pros: Heats Up Quickly
  • Cons: Black grates scratch

Great Down Draft Duel Fuel Stove

zeak, ABT Electronics
21 September 2010
  • Excerpt: Only problem is the right burners don't turn down to simmer level. Have had this stove over 4 years with no problems. I installed it myself, the vent cutouts did not match the old down draft but with some jig saw work was able to make due.
  • Pros: Attractive Design, Easy To Clean, Heats Up Quickly, High-Powered Burners, Large Surface Area

Not what they used to be

Enthous, ABT Electronics
12 July 2010
  • Excerpt: I owned an electric Jenn Air for 24 years with no problems - late in its life the oven element burned out, an easy job I did myself. When I updated my kitchen and wanted another downdraft, but gas, so I bought this model in 2007. The other comments are accurate - the downdraft pulls on the flame, the left burners (extra $250) have very limited use because they don't go down very low or up very high. I use the right ones almost exclusively.
  • Pros: Heats Up Quickly
  • Cons: Imprecise Temp Control, Unreliable Performance

Jenn-Air Pro-Style 30" Dual Fuel Range

Rog, ABT Electronics
12 August 2009
  • Excerpt: Downdraft idea seems good but in practice appears to pull the flame away from the burners. Grill looks nice & works OK, but is difficult to clean and results do not compare with a simple outdoor unit. Very good control of two R.H. burners, but left side of stove has very limited range of control, making substitution of grill with modular burners of questionable value. Good oven, excellent stainless finish & appearance.
  • Pros: Attractive Design, Easy To Clean, Heats Up Quickly, High-Powered Burners

Cooks as it Looks

Savas, AJ Madison
28 March 2008
  • Summary: I bought this duel fuel downdraft range by Jenn Air and very pleased with it cooks. Especially the gas burners are very practical and much faster than electrical units. The stainless steel range looks very nice and clean, and I would recommend to cooks who are looking for pro equipment with a tight budget.
