Summary: I wanted this range SO badly as it had all the features I want and need for baking and cooking. First: The range has an exhaust fan "bar" that sits on the top and back of the cooktop. This "bar" is NOT the same size as the cooktop and it is curved so when you slide the range toward the wall and over the top of the granite counter, there are 1-inch gaps on either side of the cooktop (or two holes).
Summary: It simply will not get hot enough to broil properly. It cooks the food, but doesn't brown the surface as it should. Had to have a tech out to adjust the temperature in the ovens. Surface scratches much more easily than our old one (not GE).
Summary: I really like this stove. The smaller double oven is great, heats up quickly and is perfect for pizza, cookies, etc. Stove top is easy to clean. The only issue I have is that the stainles steel is an inlay and within a week I had snagged my sneaker on the bottom right corner which caused the stainless inlay to peel up like wallpaper on the edge. Lowe's has placed a service request and we hope to have this repaired or door replaced but probably would not buy again.
Summary: I received my new double oven range two days before Thanksgiving. As soon as the deliverers left, I ran both ovens through self cleaning paces to be ready for their first jobs on Thanksgiving. It's new and all, but I can't help but sing its praises - cooked my Turkey with precision temp. The convenience of the double oven made itself very apparent while two other main dishes cooked side by side in the smaller top oven. For the price, this is a dream appliance.
Summary: We have had the previous model, PB978SP4SS for a year. It performs very well. We especially like the small upper oven for cooking for two and as an extra oven for large family events. The convection works well for large turkeys. The control display on the back are a real problem. They are dark gray on black making them very low contrast and hard to read. There is no built in light to help.
