Summary: We had our our Electrolux Dual Fuel Slide in for almost 4 years and I would have raved about it. However 2 weeks ago in the middle of the night I heard a bang and went downstairs to investigate. My kitchen was filled with smoke. I evacuated my house and called 911. The stove/oven had been off all day but an electrical fire had started in the wires in the back of the oven. It had burned through the metal backing and scorched up the back of the wall on the backsplash.
Summary: I bought two electrolux appliances for my kitchen - this and the over the range microwave oven. I'm so sorry I didn't buy kitchenaid, as I did with the rest of my appliances. BIG MISTAKE! The simmer burner on the stove top requires a lot of patience to light and the clock seems to always want to default to 24 hours. Self clean oven doesn't work, despite repair calls and easy glide shelves are a nuisance.
Summary: I am so with the other commenters. I should have believed the Consumer Reports evaluation (I sometimes think they are overly picky.). Yes, the burners are difficult. Tough to use small pans and regulating the flame is very annoying. The Broiler, however, is my pet peeve. I didn't want to pay extra for dual fuel, but I didn't pay enough attention to the gas broiler. Only one broiling strip down the middle of the oven. Broiling is so difficult.
Summary: I've had this Electrolux dual fuel range for three years. Just used the self cleaning feature last night and now it won't heat up. Did everything by the book last night when cleaning.....tried to bake a casserole today and the damn thing is useless. Won't heat up at all. Have an Electrolux microwave $900.00 also three years old, have had two service calls and am on my third. Am considering junking the whole mess and buying new stuff.
Summary: I purchased this duel-fuel after a lot of research. The first one broke after a month - the large burner would not turn on and after I used the probe in the oven, the display froze up and I couldn't use my oven. Well, I got another new one and the first time I used both burners in front, the display/brains of the entire unit went out. I spent over $8,000 on all new Electrolux appliances (stove, dishwasher, microwave and refrigerator).
Summary: We purchased this range just over a year ago as a part of a major remodel of our home. We originally wanted the GE Cafe' series but were talked into this new Electrolux unit by our local appliance center as being "more reliable". This range has been a nightmare from the day it was installed.
