Summary: I purchased in April 2007 the electric range HEI7282U from Bosch. In April 2013 I threw the towel, and the high end electric range is going to go where it belongs, in the trash bin! The board/display which is the brain of the beast, part #653424, blew once in 2009 then again in March 2013, then again in April 2013 without any warning nor heavy use.
Summary: We bought ours in April 2012 when we upgraded to granite counter tops. We haven't had any issues with the knobs as others have described, and I regularly clean them. The stove / oven is quiet and works very well.
Summary: I paid over $2000 for this oven, and the knobs are cheap plastic and the silver paint is peeling off. Other problem is the light in the oven keeps blowing off. There are two lights, but I can open only one of the glass covers to change the light bulb, the other one must be cross threaded or something, I cannot open it. I am afraid I will break the class if I put too much pressure.
Summary: "We use the range top daily and the oven an average of once a week. We like the multi sized heating surfaces as well as the ease of operation of the oven features. After the resolution of the range top indicator light wiring and the replacement of updated control knobs, everything operates perfectly.
Summary: The old excellence standard for Bosch is no longer the case. I had the same problem with the knobs. I complained and discovered that Bosch had indeed recognized the problem and was manufacturing replacement knobs for anyone who complained. The previous knobs did not have a baked on finish which disolved when they came in contact with water. The new replacement knobs have a sealed glossy finish. HOWEVER......
Summary: "So glad I chose this range. Wanted a nice stainless steel model in the new kitchen; in my last kitchen I used a nice Jenn-Aire model. Let me tell you that this range is superior, and they are of similar price. This one is a pleasure to use. I was especially pleased with the control panel--no clicking deep into menus to get things done like on the Jenn-Aire. This Bosch model has a very intuitive control system.
Pros: Intuitive controls and quiet, quality operation.
Summary: After a lot of research, I finally replaced my 80's era Jenn-Air slide-in range with the Bosch. I had looked at the Electrolux, but saw a lot of disconcerting negative reviews pointing out major problems with the electronics in the in the range. The only negative reviews I could find on the Bosch were one about scrubbing the paint off the knobs and another about a humming noise.
Pros: High quality, Durable, proof setting, adjustable temp, easy to clean
