Summary: I love love to cook-I dislike the smell of food lingering in the kitchen or hallway when the door is open. so we got this as a remedy. This GE chimney vent hood, has bright built in lights, memory etc functions, varying speeds when you don't have it on highest setting it senses temperature (hot)...
Summary: The manual recommends changing the filters twice a year. They cost $135 each. You will pay for this hood many times over. Most filters cost less than $20. This filter can only be purchased through GE. Is loud, and doesn't filter well.
Summary: Check out the cost of the charcoal filters. They can only be purchased by GE. You can get some hood filters for under $5. This one will cost you $270 for two required filters each year. There is no reason why they had to design them to be so expensive. IT is encased in a heavy casing.
Summary: The description of the product is misleading.....it is NOT a chimney hood but a wall unit. I had to purchase another model. Suppliers were gracious to allow a return beyond the date, but sadly the shipment costs were too high so I now have the two hoods.
Summary: Pros: Looks great! Lighting is bright a illuminates the cooking surface well. Fan has 4 speeds and if vented to the outside will do a good job of keeping odors out of the house. Cons: The fan is loud esp.
