Excerpt: The island hood looks good. There are three speed settings on the fan. In my opinion the lowest setting is fine and for most applications it provides sufficient air velocity for most cooking applications. The medium and high speeds are much too high and make a very loud noise. In fact the highest speed also vibrates the entire stack. I would suggest that Frigidaire go with a smaller fan in future models.
Excerpt: We had a bad experience with a (non-ABT) hood that looked a lot like this one, but had a touchscreen. The touchscreen died, so we needed to replace the hood. This one had simple push-button operations, so we were enticed. It also had a specific size/dimensions of chimney, which worked better in our space - given that we had some home structure beams to avoid in the ceiling. The price is right. It looks good and works well, but just sounds like a jet is taking off.
