Summary: I've had my unit for about 4 months, and as other reviewers have suggested, that the fan is making loud rattling noise. It sounds like the fan is a little off balance and the problem is semi-alieviated on the highest setting, but it is still really loud.
Cuts lingering odors & cooking heat with good task lighting. A few minor issues but cost effective.

Summary: Our Western NY location requires a tight house for winter so odors linger without an exhaust fan. We now use the fan often because of the low mechanical and airflow noise. The kitchen heat build-up which previously effected the entire house heating (and hopefully cooling) is now negligible.
Summary: Good solid hood unit. This was a replacement for the exact (older) model, only in white. It was time to update the kitchen with stainless. Fan switch is a rheostat type so you can dial in the speed you want. ..nice feature. One strange issue...
Summary: Just had this range hood installed yesterday. It replaced a previous cheaper Broan range hood purchased about 10 years ago. The new range hood is much quieter than the previous hood and it seems the filter is a little better positioned than my previous Broan.
Moves a lot more air than the basic models. Worth the extra money!

Summary: Moves a lot more air than the "contractors special" model. Worth the extra money! I did have to use some self adhesive rubberized coating to quiet down the hum from the motor. Now, most of the noise is from the air moving and not the motor humming.
Product looks nice, light is bright and fan noise reasonable

Summary: Not sure why there is an air flow coming out the front? The black templet is in place but there is still a draft. Also the hood doesn't capture all the steam or smoke, half goes right over the front in your face!
