Perfect so far!

Erin, Amazon
9 March 2014
  • Summary: We had this installed when our kitchen was redone 7 months ago. It was a decent price for this category (needed at least 380cfm). Specific things we love about it are: it could be vented straight outside; under cabinet; comes in stainless steel AND the sides are stainless steel too (a lot came with black sides which we thought looked really ugly); the filters are easy to remove and clean; the lights have 3 settings-- good for functional use when cooking, and for nice dim...

Too much money for what it does

Mrs Noah, Amazon
25 February 2014
  • Summary: The lights are great, however the fan is useless. The fan pulls steam up the seams, not the vent. Just makes a mess. Had waited to buy a broan, but now I wonder why. Extremely disappointed with product, should have heeded the warnings. I will know next time.

Great

kmd, Amazon
6 January 2014
  • Summary: The low setting is whisper quiet. the Boost setting is loud but works really fast in the event of stinky food or (gasp!) burnt food. These filters are dishwasher safe, so they are easy to maintain.

Pretty but very poorly designed

Ira, Amazon
26 October 2013
  • Summary: We had our contractor install this hood a couple of years ago when we remodeled our kitchen in 2011. We wanted something reasonably attractive, that didn't call attention to itself, that fit in our kitchen. On aesthetics, this hood was fine. Not an award winner, certainly, but quite acceptable and better tha most every other choice in its price category.

Pretty but poorly designed in function

Ira E., Newegg
26 October 2013
  • Pros: Attractive style, much better than most hoods. We has this hood installed a few years ago when our kitchen was remodeled, having shopped around for something that was not ugly or inappropriate for our kitchen. This was clearly the best choice, unless one got into much more expensive brands.
  • Cons: Two functional problems with the design make this a terrible hood that I would avoid. 1. It has some kind of sensor (heat? steam?) that automatically, turns it on, at its special super-high and thus super-noisy speed, when you do something like boil pasta. Once it goes on this way, it cannot be turned off--there is no switch to turn it off. We couldn't believe there wasn't some switch to turn it off, and finally called the local dealer when we couldn't find it--and we...

Good Fan, but some limitations

Henry, Amazon
1 October 2013
  • Summary: The fan is very powerful on the "Boost" setting, and extremely quiet on the lowest setting. The delay setting is great. However, the filters have a tendency to fall out, which can be annoying.

Just a couple of things before you buy it

S. De Andrade, Amazon
23 September 2013
  • Summary: Got this model at Home Depot and I wish I would have known a couple of things before installing it 1. If you are going to have a ductless hood (air isn't going anywhere but back into your kitchen), you will need the activated charcoal filters, the Broan BPSF30 are recommended on the box. 2. I couldn't believe it for the price of this thing, but you will need to buy 50w halogen or 40w incandescent lights. 3.
