Summary: We bought a Broan hood for our new (very expensive) kitchen re-build and it lasted for a little over 11 years. When the controller board failed, we were told "too bad" by Broan because it was past its 10-year warranty. They said the part was "no longer available" and if we wanted, they would sell us - get this - a replacement for full retail price (installation not included).
Summary: This Range Hood is just what we need. It is replacing a Range hood that has been in use for 42 years. I would have given it 5 stars but we will have to see if it is as good as the one we took out. It was very easy to install and looks fine, not all that fancy but then I'm a practical person that thinks looks is not that important as long as it does the job it was intended to do.
Summary: This is a nice middle of the road, adequate fan for my LG stove. It looks sleek enough and does a nice job. I'm not a big fan of how the lights, when installed, aren't flush with the undersurface but it still looks nice.
Summary: We added a ducting system to this to vent it out the wall and it's great. Not too noisy, no big signs to promote it's brand, fits the standard cabinet above it perfectly, has a light bulb so we can see what we're cooking... just great!
Summary: It installed straightforwardly for me - and range hoods can be problematic for do it yourselfers. It smoothly goes from a light quiet flow up to a great 440 CFM. I love that high volume setting for keeping steam and scent from filling the house - it's very powerful, particularly for that price. The higher the flow, though, the louder it gets. And when cranked all the way up it is quite noisy. It took awhile for me to get used to, though now it doesn't bother me.
