Summary: U be the judge: HAd this on and still got nailed on the New Jersey turnpike. 2 tickets, one for speeding and another for reckless driving. Cost = 325 dollars total. So this device will not save you! I had it positioned on the highest point on the dashboard.
Pros: works some of the time.. see my previous review
Cons: Got nailed by a NJ State trooper doing 97 mph in a 65 mph zone. So this device will not pick up all laser targeting you. Not even a beep, nothing. It did pick up another laser beam from the very same trooper a few miles up, (after he gave me two tickets - see below)
Summary: Great product!!! Works exceptionally well. Owned a previous whistler model, so many great improvements made. Worth every penny!!! Be sure to read the programming instructions, esp to turn off audio... She's very annoying to listen too.
Summary: I live in md. and we have maney differant types and ways the police try get you speeding even if it's 3 miles over the speed limit. Well so far this is a great detector . I WOULD RATE IT A 9 OUT OF A 10.
Summary: I was a bit frustrated at first when I went to turn it on. At first I thought that my unit was DOA, because I was moving the “pwr/vol" switch on the side, back and forth. Unit wouldn’t turn on. It took a while before I discovered that to turn this detector on, I needed to PRESS IN on this switch. I’m pretty sure that the manual didn’t mention this.
Pros: Very good price for a detector with as many features as this one has. I grabbed mine while it was reduced $30. Most all of the functions can be “tweaked” to the user’s preference by cycling through them with the “menu” button, and then making changes with the “dark” and “quiet” buttons. Changes are automatically saved.
Cons: 1 - The 3 Color Backlit Text Display is a nice feature, but … with the detector mounted to the windshield, and in the bright Arizona sun, the wording on the display is for all practical purposes not visible. Changing colors doesn’t seem to help. 2 – The buttons on the top of the detector ( dark, quiet, city, & menu ) sometimes need to be pressed more than once for its action. They seem to work better once you figure out where to position your finger on the button, but...
Summary: Hi, guys, here are the answers to your review questionary: - Why you bought it there's a growing market for these kind of products in Greece due to drastic changes in the state policy of collecting charges and taxes. I was just thinking if your products could match price, quality and frequency demands of local market. I have a small distribution leak to several local expensive private car service stations, would like to try distributing your products as well.
Summary: I paid $62.00 for it. I Dont use it very often, but in the event I need to get somewhere quickly, I may have to put the pedal to the metal and put the Whistler to use. So far I have been leaving home early and giving myself enough travel time...and you should too...so there is no need to speed...
Pros: Picks up about 5 different band frequencies. Tells the direction and gives the latitude or (longitude?) location. led display can be changed to Blue yellow or Green. It is also a laser detector. Has a VG2 function to mask its presence.
Cons: Calibration may require two attempts. In City mode it will pick up lots of false positives. On highway, it seemed sensitive to almost everything. A recalibration seemed to take care of this. I took off one egg for the extra "false positives"....
Summary: I've purchased this radar-detector after browsing many reviews which were positive about everything: it detects radars on the distance of about 1.5 km, detects all types of radars, almost no false singals etc Even though I didn't use it long after purchasing yet, it detected the cameras set in my city easily so hope it will meet my expectations and will confirm all the reviews. I would advise it to my friend.
