Summary: Received the item and just like another reviewer the cover just came right off. There were no screws holding it and no screws in the package. Also, in the manual it states to attach HD to shock absorbers, yet the customer service rep said those absorbers were the feet of the case.
Pros: - Inexpensive
Cons: - No cooling fan - No screws - No rubber gaskets for HD to help vibration - Terrible customer service
Summary: An additional USB connection for a keyboard would be outstanding. A quicker processor would make the mouse movements less choppy. Ability to record via external USB connected storage would be a plus..Tech informed me that the external USB is for updating firmware, but it is unable to record via USB.
Pros: - Records security video with an HDD - Shows all cameras simutaneously - Very detailed and indepth menus - Has a mouse for menu work - Accepts upto 1Tb HDD
Cons: -Works well when it isn't burning up HDDs -Menu is a bit complicated -If you do not "Apply" settings each and every change you lose them -Mouse is slow, choppy and unresponsive -Menu changes are made more difficult by editing onsee and twosee with mouse clicks -Does not record on external USB sto...
Cons: Unit did not come with the six screws to hold the cover on. Nor did it come wuth the screws or shock absorbers for the hard drive I was adding. If I had not needed it to replace a bad one I would have sent it back!
Summary: I've been running this for about two weeks now, and it works 100%. I had to disable the alarms, because those are annoying as you can get. I ended up putting a normal HDD inside this unit because of the extra cost of the " DVR rated HDD" was more than nessisary.
Pros: Remote view of cameras with free android apps, remote view on local network, password protection, simple design, remote control. Good video capture quality.
Cons: No HDD for the purchase price is a negative in my opinion. No cooling fan for interior HDD, even though their appears to be a place for one, as well as a HDD FAN connector.
Summary: I set this up with 2 infra-red cameras from ZModo and was able to get it up and running rather easily. It took 3 tries on a hard drive, as it seems to be finicky on the drives you use. iPhone apps work well with it. UPNP works well. However, I could not get the web interface to work either in I.E.
Pros: Simple yet effective. Priced fantastically. Easy to use. Records CIF AND D1 (Yes, the high rez.)
Cons: Not for beginners. Video quality so so. Web interface flakey. Picky on hard drive used.
Summary: I haven't contacted tech support yet....I may have to in order to setup remote viewing, but I hope they are helpful..idk..i guess I'll find out
Pros: Good price (I paid $98 w/free s&h & no tax!), user friendly, easy to set-up, and has options to record in high quality (1024 X 768) or in a couple of channels even higher quality. Also has an option to hide/cover/make blank hidden/spy cameras that you don't want others to know about...amazing!
Cons: No HDD and only supports upto 1 TB HDD SATA. Once you buy the 3.5" SATA HDD, it fits perfect! and a breeze to install.
Summary: D1 is the minimum resolution you want, which is 720×480. Anything lower and the images are too pixellated to be useful. I am disappointed that I cannot figure out what this machine can and cannot do due to the contradicting marketing and product documentation.
Pros: Great price. Reasonably good brand (see Cons). Claims it can do D1 resolution (see Cons).
Cons: The marketing materials says recording resolutions are "selectable" and can record at CIF and D1. The user manul says it only records at CIF (352x288). I cannot tell how to record at D1 (720×480). This uses the same software as the other generic DVR units coming out of China (Zhuhai Raysharp Tech...
